ROH TV HITS

Up In Smoke vs. The Set: This was a very strong match to open the show. Both teams were impressive and there were some innovative moves on both sides. It's sad that the crowd was dead for this one because all four guys deserved better. Note to other wrestling promotions: this is how to put on a good five-minute match and not have it come across like a "short TV match."

Sara Del Ray vs. Jamilia Craft: As opposed to a few weeks ago when Daizee Haze took on Craft, this was a "hit." It was more of a squash, but it still was solid. Craft made Del Ray look really good (not that she's not good on her own) and should be commended for that. The "women of Honor" wrestle strong matches like the men, and that's a 100 percent compliment.

Kings of Wrestling, Kevin Steen/Steve Corino, and Truth Martini/Roderick Strong promos: These occurred at totally different times during the show, but all three promos were great. Steen and Corino are both great on the mic and they give viewers the impression they really are nuts. Chris Hero reminds me so much of Chris Jericho in so many ways, especially how he delivers his promos. I like that ROH has now been declared a "Hazardous Work Environment" by the Kings. Seeing more of these guys will guarantee more "hits" weekly. Truth Martini has grown on me and I think his promos are really entertaining. Strong isn't bad on the mic himself, but Truth Martini as a mouthpiece is definitely a good thing.

Kevin Steen & Steve Corino vs. Colt Cabana & El Generico: This was a great main event that put to shame many of the matches WWE and TNA present on national TV. The action had a nice, slow build to it and the spots were set up perfectly, building up anticipation. None of the big spots were rushed and the amount of time teased for each of them was perfect, especially for a TV match. This was the best TV match that I've seen in some time and hope to see many more of them from ROH. The post-match happenings were good as well. Having Tyler Black attack Steen as the show went off the air was a nice touch and hopefully helped boost what has been good, slow burn to this feud for the ROH Title culminating in their ROH Title match in Chicago on Saturday.

ROH TV MISSES

Erick Stevens vs. Rasche Brown: The action in this one was all right while it lasted, but I was not interested in another run-in from The Embassy. I still am not sold on Necro Buther's heel turn, and this week's show did nothing to change that. I was a proponent of the Necro turn initially, so the more of ROH I watch, the more I will revise some earlier ROH evaluations as the storylines play out.
