ROH TV HITS

Eddie Edwards vs. Andy "Right Leg" Ridge: First of all, Edwards is gold on the mic before these "Ten Minute Hunt" matches. He has great charisma and has been a good TV champion. It could be argued that he hasn't defended the title enough, but the "hunt" has made up for that. The match itself, for a three-minute match, wasn't bad. It made Edwards look strong and I don't mind the slow burn to find a "credible contender" for the TV Title. I'd like to see someone like Colt Cabana get into a feud with Edwards over the title, as they could have a strong series of matches. Other than that, I like the "Ten Minute Hunt" concept and would like to see that continue to be a weekly, or at least bi-weekly, feature since it does involve the Television Title.

Roderick Strong's requested interview time: Any time Jim Cornette is on the mic with someone in the ring, it's going to be good. Strong gave a good promo, even though the segment ran a bit longer than it probably should have. Truth Martini was also good with the time he was given. I thought Cornette had the line of the promo that Truth looked like a "snake oil salesman." We'll see how this turns out, but Strong's addition should help out the House of Truth overall.

Austin Aries & The All-Night Express vs. Tyler Black & Delirious & Jerry Lynn: There was a lot of action in this match, which made it a big hit. The "no contest" ending was a little disappointing, but it helped push forward the feud between Kevin Steen and Tyler Black for the ROH Title. With ROH, there are always three-to-five guys that could have a good feud with whoever the reigning champ is at the time. Steen and Black should not be an exception.

Also furthered in the match was the Delirious-Aries feud with Delirious pushing for his revenge. Aries is on the top of his game right now and I like the idea that he now has his "manager's license," which he referenced in the interview. I think the "player/coach" role is a great way for ROH to maximize Aries's role in the promotion.

ROH TV MISSES

Necro Butcher vs. Bobby Beverly: This match didn't do much for me. First of all, it was on the short side for an ROH match. I know the Eddie Edwards match was just as short. However, the shortness of that match has a purpose because of it being a "hunt" match. Secondly, I know it's only been a few weeks now, but the Necro heel turn hasn't been strong enough, from my perspective. This match did little to help that. I still feel that Necro is in need of a make-over to pull off this role being the crown jewel of The Embassy. Perhaps a shave and some new clothes/ring gear would work. As I said, it's not too late and this turn is still fresh, as it's only been a few weeks.
