GFW NEWS: Global Force postpones Texas Tour later this month

Global Force Wrestling has postponed a scheduled tour in Texas later this month.

GFW was scheduled to run baseball stadium shows on Sept. 25 in Corpus Christi, Sept. 26 in San Antonio, and Sept. 27 in Round Rock (Austin).

"Due to multiple conflicts in scheduling plus announcements that will be revealed over the next few weeks, GFW and the Texas clubs felt it was best to reschedule the events for the 2016 Grand Slam Tour," GFW said in a statement.

The Texas market was already saturated with wrestling shows this month - WWE's main roster has Night of Champions Weekend (including house shows), WWE's NXT brand debuts in Texas the same weekend, and Ring of Honor has two shows in San Antonio.

Therefore, GFW announced that "Global Force Wrestling, the San Antonio Missions, and the Round Rock Express have decided to postpone the GFW Grand Slam Tour events scheduled for later this month in Texas."

GFW CEO Jeff Jarrett added: "Global Force Wrestling has made a promise to our fans to present the highest quality wrestling action at all of our Grand Slam events. As a new brand in the entertainment marketplace, it is imperative not only to deliver but to exceed customer expectations. We are committed to our friends and fans in Texas, and we look forward to scheduling San Antonio and Round Rock on next year’s Grand Slam Tour."

At this time, GFW does not have ballpark shows on the upcoming schedule. GFW has an Amped TV taping on October 23 in Las, then two shows in England at the end of October.
