RADICAN'S TAKE
RADICAN: Daddy's little girl V 2.0 debuts on Impact Nov 7, 2009 - 5:00:33 PM
This past week on Impact, the show began with TNA president Dixie Carter addressed the entire roster. In what has become a mind-numbing trend in TNA, fans were once again subject to a behind the scenes moment that has no place on a wrestling program.
People don't watch wrestling to hear about backstage politics or what happened 10 years ago when WCW was running hot. When is TNA ever going to focus on developing compelling feuds? Instead, we were subjected to another "insider" moment broadcast on TNA television that perhaps clued in fans that the captain of the ship was losing the wheel.
Dixie's "it's my way or the highway" speech was hardly inspirational for a room full of wrestlers that have busted their collective asses despite being tripped up by creative time and time again. All you had to do was look around the room at the faces of the wrestlers staring off in the distance.
The fact is, the roster has heard about new beginnings before, but these "new beginnings" have always yielded the same results: more of the same.
Carter hardly established herself as a strong leader on Impact. She came off as a spoiled little girl telling the roster that she was still in control, which is hardly the type of leadership TNA needs going forward.
