Forget who jumped Jeff Hardy in that hotel stairway at 3 in the morning. Hell, forget what Jeff Hardy was doing in that stairwell at 3 in the morning. After all, he's misunderstood.
The real mystery is what powerful person with input into WWE Creative, who has seen firsthand how young girls adopt Hardy as their surrogate boyfriend, the young girls who clutch their tear-stained autographed pictures close to their bosoms, the ones who know that cute Jeff just needs someone to take care of him, nudged, pushed, or outright saw to it that WWE Creative made the worst mistake there is in marketing a wish-fulfillment teen idol: making it clear the heart-throb has a Real-Life Serious Girlfriend.
WWE Creative, currently crafting a compelling, multi-layered story with deeper characterization than has ever been done in this industry (Shawn Michaels, JBL, Chris Jericho & Randy Orton), has Jeff Hardy and his RLSG Beth forced into a car accident by a mysterious assailant in a barely-credible Hey, It's Only Wrestling angle coming soon to Smackdown. It'll be harder for girls to make Jeff Hardy their understanding fantasy boyfriend, the one who'll look past the surface to their real beauty, when they see him on TV with Beth, who physically isn't they type Hardy's fans care to see him with.
Another key to cooling down Jeff will be that he's on TV with the real Beth, not a fake Diva. One look at the angle will expose the fake accident, but the more disturbing truth of the RLSG will spread soon enough, and will be hard for these girls to ignore.
The more interesting question is not who WWE booked to feloniously assault Hardy, but who benefits if girls don't quite crush Jeff Hardy to their chest as passionately as they once did.
Oh you have no idea how some Jeff Hardy fans already HATE Beth even though
they've been together for 10 years..you know, before some of them were born
or even knew who he was.
This will just fuel the fire.

God that was one of the most idiotic posts, I have ever read. What a waste
of time.
Looks like Jeff will be wishing his GF well in her future endeavors. Just
like DDP, Angle, Callaway did with their significant others.

I have to say...those SAME girls react over a Jonas Brother or Justin
Timberlake whether or not they have a girl on their arm. I think the
opinion that girls will suddenly stop liking him as much because he has a
girlfriend is WAY off the mark. That being said, those girls will NOT be
fans of "Beth" (real or not)...but that won't stop them from drooling over
her boyfriend.
Now I'm not saying I've figured out the behaviour of the American Female
completely, but I think Bruce may be a little lacking in that particular
area of expertise.

Another reminder that the only reason I keep visiting this site is because
I have too much free time at work and Jason Powell doesn't post as many
"news" items.
I actually thought we'd get some scoop after reading the title of the
article, afraid not. Why would WWE want to "cool down" one of their
hottest stars? Jeff Hardy is a way over face with the fans, I don't see
that the fact he has a gf would change that. If he's "injured" in a car
accident, I would think his teenage girl fans would be even more concered
for him. I guess I'm missing (along with the posts before me) your point?

I really hate when WWE makes a great wrestler like Jeff Hardy look so
stupid. Honestly stop putting him in these near death situtions its
getting old and ruining his image.

I think most girls won't care if jeff hardy has a GF or not. Most
celebrities that teens drool over has GFs and that sure doesn't stop them
from wanting them. So, a very stupid post that doesn't have any meaning.

i have never understood why wrestling promoters think it is a good idea to
incorporate real life situations of talent into fictional storylines. I.E.
scott hall "playing" a drunk on tv, or edge mocking ric flair after his
road rage incident. if i were involved in an unfortunate happenstance
outside my job. the last thing i would want is to be reminded of it on a
