McNEILL BLOG: The Big Questions About Hulk Hogan in TNA Oct 27, 2009 - 2:58:46 PM
Yes, TNA Wrestling announced today that they have signed Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff. With that in mind, let's answer all the spoken (and unspoken) questions about the big event.
What the hell just happened?
Last month, Hulk Hogan and Kurt Angle were guests on the syndicated "Bubba the Love Sponge", and came up with a storyline for an Angle versus Hogan feud in TNA. It sure looks like Kurt Angle was a driving force behind this deal.
Is Hulk Hogan in any physical shape to wrestle?
Probably not. But that didn't stop his last two WWE comebacks, and I don't see why that would be relevant now.
"Bubba the Love Sponge" is saying that Hogan and Bischoff are now in charge of TNA. Is that true?
Bubba will say anything that Hulk Hogan tells him to say. But I'd very surprised if Hulk agreed to come unless he had creative control over his storylines.
Are Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara still booking TNA?
Apparently. I can see Russo and Ferrara staying to write the non-Hogan material for the promotion. But I can't see Hogan and Angle putting together this potentially epic storyline and then agreeing to have Vince Russo handle the detail work.
But doesn't Hulk Hogan hate Vince Russo?
This is pro wrestling. It's amazing how people in the wrestling business can bury the hatchet when money is involved.
Are we going to see all of Hogan's ex-WWF buddies join him in TNA?
That depends. Mostly, it depends on whether Spike TV has any money left over after signing The Hulkster.
What will end up happening to TNA?
The uncertainty is the fun part of following professional wrestling. Stay tuned!
