MCNEILL BLOG: A Modest Proposal For Monday Night Trump Jun 16, 2009 - 10:45:33 PM
PWTorch VIP members have first-look access to all of Torch columnist Pat McNeill's latest blogs in the newly upgraded VIP Forum. His blogs are published first in the PWTorch VIP Forum, and McNeill interacts with other VIP members and Torch staff and contributors in the blog comments area afterward. Some of McNeill's blog entries will be exclusive to the VIP Forum.
Let me get this straight.
According to WWE storylines, Vince McMahon sold the WWE Raw television show to Donald Trump.
On Raw, Triple H earned the right to face Randy Orton for the title at the Bash pay-per-view on the 28th. Trump decided that, before the pay-per-view, Triple H would face Orton in a Last Man Standing match for the WWE title on Raw next Monday. And, next Monday's show will have no commercials.
I think I've got it. However, we didn't address the even more important issue that came up on Raw. Who's the new Raw general manager?
You see, Trump is the new owner of Raw (which has never happened before, except for the time that Ric Flair became the owner of Raw, but we don't want to talk about that.) But we all know that Trump will be too busy too show up at Raw every week and come up with stupid reasons to extend the John Cena-Big Show feud out until the Palin administration. So, Trump will need a subordinate to show up and run the program every week. Who will it be?
The last time I checked, Trump had a television show called "The Apprentice." On this show, Trump brings in a bunch of job seekers and puts them through their paces. Trump looks for the person he thinks would make the best employee. The winner gets the "prize" of working for Donald Trump.
Based on that logic, Trump should turn over Raw to the best possible subordinate. That person would be Trump's newest employee, the winner of last season's "Apprentice" show. Of course, last season was a celebrity edition of the program. Which would make the new general manager of WWE Monday Night Raw...
...Joan Rivers.
Now THAT would get people talking around the water cooler.
