CALDWELL: Summary of 5/11 WWE Raw - Miz brings it, Santino(a) and Beth madness, Raw Context, HIGH/LOW Points May 11, 2009 - 10:45:29 PM
-- High Point: The Miz bringing it again. The Miz has been the Raw brand's stand-out performer since the WWE Draft became official after the Backlash PPV. Miz is in complete control of his heel character and he's becoming a great anti-John Cena character that is drawing the ire of Cena fans. He's like an NBA player nailing a key shot on the road to piss off the home team's crowd. And he's letting everyone know about it.
-- Low Point: Santino(a) and Beth madness. Some people will disagree with me, and that's fine, but I'm just tired of this program. I've been tired of this program for several weeks (perhaps even a few months), but I understand the Santino/Beth program being on WWE TV to offer some "variety" and appeal to Vince McMahon's sense of humor. It's just annoying to me at this point.
-- Context: This was WWE's final Raw before the "off-brand" Judgment Day PPV, so the show closed with the babyface challenger (Batista) to the heel champion (Randy Orton) in control leading to their PPV title match that is being depended on to sell PPV buys. WWE hopes Batista fired up enough WWE viewers to become PPV buyers with Orton in jeopardy and SuperDave appearing to be super-human with no chance of losing his shot at the title or his chance to finally give Orton his comeuppance.
-- IC champion Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho was added to the Judgment Day PPV card on Sunday.
