CALDWELL: Summary of 4/13 WWE Raw - Draft Picks, Cena-Swagger delivers the goods, HIGH/LOW Points Apr 13, 2009 - 11:44:00 PM
-- High Point: John Cena vs. Jack Swagger. The longest match of Raw was also the best match on the show. Swagger held his own against WWE's top star and gained a lot of credibility points, even if Cena isn't perceived as a great wrestler to give a "rub" to a younger star. The match, though, had a "big match feel" and captured the audience to see Cena against a fresh opponent not named Edge, Big Show, or Randy Orton.
-- Low Point: Nothing stands out as being particularly terrible. There wasn't a definitive low point on the show, although I was tempted to write Week Two of nothing on Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker to follow up on WrestleMania 25. HBK is obviously taking some time off, but it's so odd to have zero follow-up on the Michaels vs. Taker match. Another potential low point was Shane McMahon being thrust into the main event storyline at the same physical level of the Raw brand's top stars, especially a returning Batista. It's just too much.
-- Next week's Raw before the Backlash PPV will be headlined by WWE champion Triple H vs. Randy Orton.
-- Champions who switched brands during the Draft show were WWE champion Triple H from Smackdown to Raw, Women's champion Melina from Raw to Smackdown, Divas champion Maryse from Smackdown to Raw, U.S. champion MVP from Smackdown to Raw, Intercontinental champion Rey Mysterio from Raw to Smackdown, and MITB briefcase owner C.M. Punk from Raw to Smackdown.
-- Draft Picks Scorecard: (1) MVP to Raw from Smackdown ... (2) Big Show to Raw from Smackdown ... (3) Melina to Smackdown from Raw ... (4) Matt Hardy to Raw from Smackdown ... (5) Triple H to Raw from Smackdown ... (6) C.M. Punk to Smackdown from Raw ... (7) The Miz to Raw from ECW ... (8) Kane to Smackdown from Raw ... (9) Chris Jericho to Smackdown from Raw ... (10) Vladimir Kozlov to ECW from Smackdown ... (11) Maryse to Raw from Smackdown ... (12) Rey Mysterio to Smackdown from Raw.
