Pro Wrestling Torch was established in 1987 by Wade Keller. One of the primary traits PWTorch has been credited with over the years is assembling the best and most diverse staff of columnists with broad knowledge, but also areas of specialty where they have a particularly strong grasp of history. Every day PWTorch.com presents that team of writers answering your questions, some of which are fact-based and others of which are opinion-based. Either way, we've got you covered with Bruce Mitchell, Pat McNeill, Sean Radican, Greg Parks, James Caldwell, and Wade Keller. Collectively they have over 80 years working for the Torch, writing about wrestling and studying industry history and trends.

If you have a question you'd like us to respond to, send your question to askpwtorch@gmail.com. I, along with the Torch staff, will address you questions in this feature and also the “Ask PWTorch: All-Star Panel” edition which is also published most days here at PWTorch.

PWTorch reader Matt from Brisbane, Australia asks: Hi guys. I was wondering if you could share your thoughts or any stories on Gary Hart. Court Bauer was recently on the Stone Cold podcast and told a few stories about him and he sounded really intriguing. I may be naive here but I'd never heard of him before, could you please share any memories or thoughts on him. Thanks, love the site and the audio.

PWTorch senior columnist Bruce Mitchell answers: Gary Hart was one of the top managers (and he really did manage his charges, particularly in their booking and presentation) in the '70s and '80s in the pro wrestling business. This is the type of question I go into great detail answering on the two-plus-hours of the VIP Bruce Mitchell Audio Show (usually hosted by editor/publisher Wade Keller) for PWTorch VIP Members each and every week.

PWTorch reader Aaron P. asks: What chance does Del Rio have of someday being back in WWE?

PWTorch columnist Sean Radican answers: I'm guessing he was ready to get out of WWE once his contract expired in the near future. He's someone that has a lot of money already and can go back to AAA as a featured act if he still wants to wrestle, so I'm guessing there's not much of a chance he goes back. He never got over to the level of his push and he's not someone I see WWE brining back because he's not seen as a top tier star. Anything is possible, but I would be surprised if WWE brought him back given that his departure could open up a slot for someone in Developmental and WWE is constantly signing new talent to develop and bring up to the main roster.

PWTorch columnist Greg Parks answers: Given how he left and his stated desire to leave and/or retire from WWE in the near future anyway, I don't think a return is terribly likely.

PWTorch editor Wade Keller answers: He didn't reach the level of stardom that would make it likely WWE would "forgive and forget" what happened or even bother to try to bring him back. There's never going to be much nostalgia value in him with today's fan base years from now, so why bother? It's not like he's tight with top WWE management who would push for him to be brought back. I think we've seen the last of him in WWE.

===

PWTorch reader Mark from Huntington asks: Sting is easily in my top two favorites of all time. How should he debut in WWE?

PWTorch columnist Sean Radican answers: Sting isn't under WWE contract yet, but I'm guessing when he appears for 2K during SummerSlam weekend, he will iron out his contract with Vince McMahon and a plant will be set in motion for his debut. My guess is the best way to debut him would be after the Royal Rumble to build him up for a big WrestleMania match. They could do some really effective video packages leading into his debut to boost the ratings for his first appearance on WWE television and then set his WM program in motion.

PWTorch reader Jeff from Michigan asks: Could WWE have Brock Lesnar win the WWE Title at Summerslam, but resume the Heyman/Cesaro pairing and have Cesaro defend the title as a surrogate for Lesnar?

PWTorch assistant editor James Caldwell answers: I actually had a similar thought during Raw. Something along the lines of Lesnar wins the title, Paul Heyman receives the title from Lesnar, and Heyman either selects a new or former Paul Heyman Guy to defend the title, or Heyman presents the title to The Authority (with some reward coming his way in exchange) for Triple H & Stephanie McMahon to hand-select a new champion. The idea being trying to get heat on an undeserving champion while Lesnar is away. It would at least solve the problem of what to do without a WWE champion on TV and house shows for several months, but the execution has to make sense.

PWTorch editor Wade Keller answers: I think the WWE Title has too much value to be passed along arbitrarily like that due to some shenanigans by Heyman or the Authority. I think they need to protect that title's heritage and integrity more than that (I know there are plenty of exceptions in recent years) if they can help it. I don't see a big problem with Lesnar defending exclusively on a few PPVs between now and WrestleMania 31. His infrequent defenses can be part of the fan resentment that builds up before he loses in the WM31 main event. It's not like a house show with a WWE Title match on top inherently draws more than a show loaded with top stars but no title match. The days of fans attending house shows because they think they're seeing an "important title match" and a "possible title change" faded away as title changes shifted largely from house shows to PPVs starting in the mid-1980s. I think there are other storyline options that have less downside than Lesnar beating Cena but handing over the title or having someone else defend it "for him."
