PWTorch reader Dunivan Savage of Los Angeles, Calif. asks: What's going on with Mark Henry and Big Show? I haven't see Henry and the Big Show is barely active. Any update on Sting? I hope he's spending this time getting to better shape!

PWTorch assistant editor James Caldwell replies: Mark Henry is still banged up, so WWE cannot put him into a full-time TV program, leading to Henry being reserved for the occasional house show tour. Meanwhile, Big Show seems to be in a position where WWE does not really have a program for him, so he's been relegated to the special attraction "in case of emergency, break glass" role, e.g. punching/striking Damien Sandow. For the latest on Sting, keep checking PWTorch.com’s main listing.

PWTorch reader Hey, PWTorch, I've noticed something from the fact that while Matt Sydal (the former Evan Bourne) is forbidden to compete in any ROH TV events or PPVs/iPPVs due to WWE invoking the 90 days no-compete clause on him. Chris Hero (formerly Kassius Ohno) actually appeared at the end of ROH's Final Battle event last year a month after WWE released him from his developmental contract, meaning that Hero never got called up to the main roster like his Kings of Wrestling tag team partner, Cesaro, did. Does Hero's release and showing up to a ROH event mean that wrestlers who had WWE developmental contracts don't have the no-compete clause invoked on them? Thank you and I still enjoy coming to your website!

PWTorch senior columnist Bruce Mitchell answers: I would assume so. WWE developmental wrestlers don't have the television exposure obviously that sports entertainers on the main roster do, so there is no real reason to keep other companies from benefitting from getting an act right off of WWE TV. Also, WWE developmental wrestlers don't make a lot of money and most likely need to get booked as soon as they can to continue to make a living in the industry.

PWTorch columnist Sean Radican answers: You are correct. According to a source I spoke to, WWE talent under developmental deals do not have a no compete clause, which is why Hero was able to appear on CZW iPPV the same night ROH did their Final Battle VOD taping last December.

PWTorch reader Alexander of Pasadena, Calif. asks: Sorry if this is old news or if it was covered already. I remember after the Sandy Hook tragedy, Kevin Steen posted on his Facebook something along the lines that he did not want fans to chant "Kill Steen Kill" anymore and did not want to hear the word kill anymore. I haven't watched ROH in a while but at the War of Worlds PPV Steen was wearing his "Kill Steen Kill" shirt. Does anybody know why Steen changed his mind?

PWTorch columnist Sean Radican answers: ROH wanted to give Steen more of an edge heading into his ROH World Title match against Adam Cole at "Global Wars 2014," so they brought back the Kill Steen Kill catchphrase and t-shirt. I'm not sure exactly what Steen's mindset was behind bringing the catchphrase back as it relates to the Sandy Hook tragedy, but perhaps enough time had passed to where he felt comfortable using it again as part of his character.

PWTorch senior columnist Bruce Mitchell answers: Because those t-shirts still sell...

PWTorch reader & VIP MEMBER Rob J. of Glasgow, Scotland asks:M Newish VIP member loving reading the old newsletters in conjunction with watching the Network. Given that the recent release of the numbers for Extreme Rules, is there any way that WWE could ever go back to the old PPV model. Surely the network has now cannibalized and devalued the PPV model to the point where it is no longer viable to expect more than a minority to pay over $10 for an event?

PWTorch senior columnist Bruce Mitchell answers: The only reason to go back to the pay-per-view model is if the WWE Network completely tanks (I don't believe that is happening) and that would be a financial disaster for them. Something like that would cause Wall Street to lose much more faith in the company's management plan. If it happened, the pay-per-view carriers would have tremendous leverage over WWE and no doubt take even more of a cut of the pay-per-view gross.

PWTorch columnist Greg Parks answers: I think it depends. If WWE abandons the Network, say, next year, then they might be able to go back to PPV without a gigantic drop-off (provided they can grovel to the PPV providers enough to get them back on board). But if WWE conditions fans to not have to pay for it over the long-term, it would be difficult to go back to that model.

PWTorch columnist Sean Radican answers: I don't think there's any way they can go back once the international markets have full access to the WWE Network. PPV is a dying market for wrestling and as more people get used to the technology and the $10 price tag, it's going to put an end to PPVs for WWE at some point in the near future.
