The Orange County (Florida) Sheriff's department held a press conference Monday afternoon to address a shooting at WWE's Performance Center. OC Sheriff Jerry Demings released the following information.

- The individual, whose name was not given, was trespassing at the Performance Center after being arrested last week. The man is "fixated" on an unidentified NXT Diva. However, the Diva was not at the Performance Center on Monday.

- WWE staff made a 911 call when the man returned to the Performance Center on Monday wielding a knife.

Deputies arrived at the scene and confronted the man in the P.C. parking lot. The man was given instructions to drop his weapon, but he refused. The deputies retreated, the man charged toward them, and he was shot one time.

The man is currently alive and was taken to a local hospital for a "life-threatening gunshot wound."

- WWE recently filed a restraining order against the individual, but the sheriff's office had not served him yet.

- This was the Sheriff's department's third encounter with the man in the last 30 days. In past incidents, the man threatened deputies with a chain.

WWE beefed up security at the Performance Center in recent weeks by requesting extra deputies around the facility in case of an event like what happened on Monday.
