July 29 Sit-Down Interview - Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens, who has routinely called out lead WWE announcer Michael Cole during his matches, sat down with Cole for this week's sit-down interview on WWE's website.

The setting for the storyline-driven interview was different this week. Instead of the usual backstage office/room, Owens sat down with Cole inside the ring at Tuesday's Smackdown TV taping.

Cole opened by asking Owens about his rough July, and whether he is taking out his frustration on others. Owens asked if he means him calling out Cole during his matches.

"I've watched Raw for years. And I've actually been on commentary with you before on Raw. So, I guess I'm just trying to keep you in line and making sure you're paying to the match and not plugging Total Divas or something," Owens said.

Cole transitioned to Owens's beef with Cesaro, whose career is similar to Owens coming through the independents to WWE. Owens said he simply does not want Cesaro to take his spotlight. After all, he beat John Cena, while Cesaro has not.

"After what he did on Monday sticking his nose in my business, Cesaro should probably watch his back on Smackdown. Is that a threat? Maybe it is," Owens closed.

July 22 Sit-Down Interview - Cesaro

WWE star Cesaro joined Michael Cole for this week's sit-down interview on WWE's website. The character-driven interview focused on Cesaro's quest to be taken seriously as a top act in WWE.

Cole started by referencing Vince McMahon's comments about Cesaro during the infamous "Stone Cold" podcast interview earlier this year, where McMahon said Cesaro was not connecting with the audience.

"To be honest, I was driving to the next town and I was white-knuckling the steering wheel," Cesaro said about when he heard the comment. "But, I thought about it, slept on it, and the next morning (at TV), I went to Mr. McMahon's office, looked him in the eye, and said, 'Vince, challenge accepted.'"

Cesaro also talked about shifting to singles after Tyson Kidd suffered a serious neck injury. He said they "clicked" as soon as they got in the ring together, and he believes they will team again when Kidd returns from injury.

"We are very similar," he said. "We had similar upbringings and a love for wrestling, for the sport. We pride ourselves on what we do in the ring. We want to be the best team ever."

Cole then rattled off the laundry list of gimmicks and different storylines during Cesaro's WWE career. So, what defines Cesaro?

"I think what defines me the most is what I do in the ring. Every time I step in the ring, I deliver," Cesaro said. "It may take some time to catch on, but people see that and appreciate the hard work."

The interview closed with Cesaro talking about his recent U.S. Title chase against John Cena and big non-title match against WWE World Hvt. champion Seth Rollins this week on Smackdown. Cesaro's new adversary, Kevin Owens, was not mentioned during the interview.
