TV Wrestling Viewership Break Down
Week of June 29

This week's numbers include Raw and Tough Enough on USA Network, ROH TV and TNA Impact on Destination America, and Smackdown on Syfy. Other shows did not register in the weekly cable TV rankings.

It was a weak week for wrestling, as the pie shrank to 7.330 million viewers from 8.156 million viewers the Week of June 22. This was mainly due to Raw drawing an historically-low audience.

And, of that smaller pie, WWE grabbed 92 percent of the share, mainly due to TNA Impact and ROH TV drawing the fewest viewers this year on Destination America.

Raw, Smackdown, TNA Impact, ROH TV, and Tough Enough

- Total Live TV Wrestling Viewership: 7.330 million viewers, down 10 percent from last week's live audience of 8.156 million.

- Total DVR Added Viewership: 8.126 million, down nine percent from last week's DVR-added viewership of 8.954 million. Plus, it was less than live viewership (8.156 million) last week.

- Monday, June 29: WWE Raw's three individual hours averaged 3.462 million viewers live + same day, down from 3.670 million.

DVR viewing then accounted for an increase of 8.5 percent, down from the usual range in the mid-9.0 percent. So, there was not a significant DVR Bump to make up for the lackluster live viewing.

One factor to consider is whether DirecTV viewership affected Raw. With USA Network adding a two-hour replay before Tough Enough last week, some DirecTV systems switched to DVR'ing the Tuesday replay instead of the usual Monday night Raw airing. So, live+same day and DVR viewing would have been affected if DirectTV users were not aware to adjust their system.

8:00 p.m.: 3.362 million live viewers, 3.645 million with DVR (+8.4%)
9:00 p.m.: 3.544 million live viewers, 3.817 million with DVR (+7.7%)
10:00 p.m.: 3.482 million live viewers, 3.804 million with DVR (+9.2%)
-SHOW AVG.: 3.462 million viewers live, 3.755 million with DVR (+8.5%)
-LAST WEEK: 3.670 million viewers live, 4.026 million with DVR (+9.7%)

Overall, the June 29 Raw grabbed 47 percent of the total TV wrestling pie and 46 percent of the week's total DVR-added viewership.

- Tuesday, June 30: Tough Enough Week 2 drew 1.047 million viewers live+same day, down 13 percent from last week.

Tough Enough added 181,000 DVR viewers to bring the total to 1.228 million viewers, down 9.0 percent from last week's DVR-added viewership.

- Wednesday, July 1: Ring of Honor's first-run airing on Destination America drew 157,000 viewers, down 15 percent from last week.

Adding in the 11:00 p.m. EST replay/West Coast airing, ROH drew a total Wednesday night audience of 238,000 viewers, down 28 percent from last week.

DVR viewership was only 11,000, bringing ROH's total to 249,000 viewers, down 26 percent from 337k last week. This was ROH's smallest combined audience through five weeks.

- Wednesday, July 1: TNA Impact drew 267,000 first-run viewers for their "bell-to-bell" special, down 27 percent from 369,000 first-run viewers last week.

The midnight replay/West Coast airing drew 51,000 viewers, bringing the Wednesday night total to 318,000 viewers, down 29 percent from 451k last week.

Impact then added 62,000 DVR viewers (vs. 99k last week) to bring the total audience to 380,000, down 30 percent from 550,000 total viewers last week.

So, DVR did not provide a boost to help address weak Wednesday night viewership.

- Thursday, July 2: WWE Smackdown drew 2.265 million live + same day viewers on Syfy, down 9.3 percent from 2.496 million viewers last week.

DVR viewing added 249,000 viewers to make up some of the gap.

This brought total viewership to 2.514 million viewers, down 6.6 percent from 2.692 million viewers last week.
