WWE NXT TV taping report
April 23, 2015
Full Sail University
Report by Josh Parry, PWTorch correspondent

Thursday night's taping was NXT's first show back at Full Sail Live since February 18, so suffice it to say that the crowd was loud and ready to go from the start. I'd say at least 80 percent of the crowd had already assembled and outside the arena before doors even opened. Tye Dillinger was our pre-show meet and greet.

Before the show, Greg Hamilton got on the mic and welcomed everybody back to Full Sail. He hyped up the crowd by saying that the NXT Road Trip is feeding the veins of the NXT Universe, but Full Sail needs to prove tonight that it is the heart of that universe.

Dark Match: The Mechanics (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) beat an unnamed enhancement team. The Mechanics worked as heels, so without any other identifying factors for the babyface team, the crowd chanted for "Silver-boots" and "Tribal-boots."

Episode 1 Results - April 29

- After the opening video, Kevin Owens's music hit and the NXT champion came out to a loud mix of boos and cheers. Kevin got to the ring and proclaimed that there's no reason to wait anymore - he wants to fight, and Sami Zayn wants to fight, so they should finish it right now.

William Regal came out instead, and reprimanded Owens for trying to hijack the show and start a fight. Sami Zayn interrupted. Owens said that Sami has lost his chance and has no claim to a title re-match, but that he would be happy to fight him non-title. At this, Sami called back to Owens's attitude before Rival, and said that he fights for a prize; that prize is not Kevin Owens, but the NXT Championship. Regal made the title match official for the May 20 "Takeover" special.

- Cass and Enzo's music hit, which got the pop of the night by far. Putting the titles on these guys will be an awesome move.

(1) Enzo Amore & Big Cass beat NXT tag champions Blake & Murphy in a non-title match.

(2) Dana Brooke beat Bayley. During the match, Bayley's music played, and Emma came out dressed as Bayley, doing her entrance routine. The distraction allowed Brooke to hit her finisher for the pin.

(3) Hideo Itami beat Adam Rose. Quick squash win for Hideo. Lots of GTS chants, but no dice.

(4) Becky Lynch beat "Crazy" Sarah Dobson with her arm submission.

(5) Sami Zayn beat Alex Riley via DQ. Kevin Owens was on commentary, and interfered mid-match. He slammed Sami on the ramp, then powerbombed Riley onto the ring apron.

Episode 2 Results - May 6

(1) Charlotte beat Emma. Charlotte is getting a much better response now that she's out of her feud with Banks. Post-match, Bayley came out to help Emma to her feet. Bayley offered a hug, which Emma tentatively accepted. Bayley didn't let go, and suplexed Emma.

(2) Rhyno squashed Bull Dempsey. Post-match, Rhyno said that everybody's saying that there's another unstoppable force in NXT besides him, so at Takeover, he wants Baron Corbin.

(3) Enzo & Cass vs. The Mechanics did not happen. Enzo's music played a few times before the camera cut backstage to show Blake and Murphy attacking Zo and Cass.

- An NXT Women's Title contract signing between Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch took place, handled by William Regal. Regal spoke about the prestige that NXT is restoring to women's wrestling and got a nice round of applause from the crowd. Becky Lynch spoke about her humble beginnings and everything she went through to get here. Banks remained silent, and signed the contract before attacking Lynch, who came out on top and made Banks tap before leaving.

- Finn Bálor made a low-key entrance, sharply dressed in a black suit. He took a lap around ringside for the fans, then went to sit with the timekeeper.

(4) Hideo Itami beat Tyler Breeze. Breeze ducked a big running dropkick that missed and sent Bálor through the barricade at ringside. Bálor entered the ring post-match to check on Itami, but Breeze dropped him with a superkick, and then got a Beauty Shot kick on Hideo.

Episode 3 Results - May 13

(1) Bayley beat Casey Cassidy (the new signee from Australia).

(2) Baron Corbin beat Solomon Crowe. Baron clicks so much better and more naturally as a heel. Crowe came off the top rope, but Corbin caught him and spun it right into the End of Days. That was really cool.

Post-match, Rhyno came out and asked Corbin if they were gonna do this. Corbin obliged, and the two brawled until they were pulled apart. Corbin left the ring, and Rhyno started Goring officials and security.

(3) NXT Women's champion Sasha Banks squashed an unnamed opponent.

(4) Alexa Bliss beat Carmella with the Sparking Destroyer moonsault. Blake and Murphy distracted Carmella, allowing Bliss to take advantage. She thanked Blake and Murphy post-match. Carmella grabbed a mic and said that the Tag Title match was official at Takeover.

(5) Kalisto beat Tye Dillinger. Kalisto took a post-match lap around the ring for his NXT send-off.

(5) NXT Women's champion Sasha Banks beat an unnamed opponent.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens had a promo exchange. Owens said Zayn won't make it out of Takeover "next week."

- Sami Zayn came to the ring for a promo. He asked Kevin Owens to join him because he has something to say. Owens obliged, and entered the ring. Sami said he thinks he's figured out why Owens has become what he is. Zayn said that every big moment of Kevin Owens's career has a little asterisk next to it, in the form of Sami Zayn. Zayn asked if it burns Owens up inside knowing that his little boy wears a Sami Zayn t-shirt to school. This hit a nerve, and Kevin left the ring, and walked up the ramp. He stopped at the top of the ramp, with his back turned, and darkly said that this time, after Takeover, Sami won't be coming back.

(6) Tyler Breeze & Adam Rose beat Hideo Itami & Finn Bálor. Hideo blind tagged Bálor, and the miscommunication allowed Breeze to win via roll-up. Post match, as Finn and Hideo argued, Breeze got his finisher in on them both again.

Post-show:

- Breeze came back to the ring, but Finn and Hideo we're waiting for him. Hideo hit the shotgun kick, which was followed up by the Coup De Grace from Bálor to send us home happy.

- Tickets for Takeover and the taping the night after went on-sale outside the arena as soon as the show ended.

- We ran into a few of the NXT Superstars after the show as they were leaving the venue. Of note, Alex Riley said that he's got a minor knee injury, which needs surgery this week, and he will likely be out for a few weeks.

Also, Dana Brooke talked our group about the cliche posing and over-the-top touching herself. She gave my friend a practical lesson on how to hit her pose HERE.
