WWE News & Notes

-- (Lesnar): WWE issued a statement on Brock Lesnar appearing to blade during a ringside spot in the WrestleMania main event on Sunday.

"WWE programming is TV-PG and we don't permit intentional bleeding. The communication or contact between our performers and referees is part of our safety protocol. That said, unintentional blood sometimes occurs, and we do our best to minimize."

There appeared to be "unintentional blood" during the opening minutes of the match when Lesnar and Roman Reigns scrapped in the ring. Later in the match, Lesnar appeared to have a new cut following a ringside spot where Reigns sent Lesnar into the ringpost. [ LINK: Statement to WrestlingInc ]

-- (Wale): Rapper Wale went through TMZ trying to restore a working relationship with WWE. Wale says he feels like there is bad blood between the two sides after he got into a fight sitting ringside at a Raw TV taping exactly one year ago in Washington, D.C.

Wale, who was in California during WrestleMania Weekend for the non-WWE "WaleMania" show, says he wants an internship with WWE to learn from top executives. "I think me and Triple H should talk. I think we could help each other," Wale was quoted by TMZ. [ LINK: Story HERE ]

-- (WM31): WrestleMania 31 received local news coverage in California as well as national news coverage from the Houston Chronicle. Chronicle columnist Ken Hoffman made his annual trek to WrestleMania and reported on the weekend experience in his popular newspaper column. [ LINK: Review HERE ]

-- (Lanza): For an obscure wrestling reference, WWE Hall of Famer Blackjack Lanza was referenced during an NBA game Tuesday night on TNT. Miami Heat player Hassan Whiteside returned from injury against the San Antonio Spurs wearing a leather hand protector, prompting TNT broadcaster Kevin Harlan to equate the protective glove to Blackjack's famous black glove. Whiteside missed the previous three Heat games recovering from a gash in his right hand.
