WM31 NEWS: WWE announces WrestleMania 31 revenue record, more

Following WrestleMania 31, WWE released their annual WrestleMania preliminary business figures:

- WWE is reporting $12.6 million gross in ticket sales for WrestleMania at Levi's Stadium in California, making it the "the highest grossing live event" in WWE history. This tops $12.3 million for WM29 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey/New York.

- The marketed attendance of 76,976 broke Levi's Stadium's attendance record. In its first year of existence, the stadium's previous record was 70,799. The actual figure will be released later.

- WM31 ranks #5 in WWE's list of marketed attendance records, following WM3 at the Silverdome in 1987, WM29 at MetLife in 2013, WM23 at Ford Field in 2007, and WM28 at SunLife Stadium in 2012.

"None of this success would have been possible without the support of Mayor Matthews, Mayor Liccardo, and the San Francisco 49ers, as well as our public and private sector partners that worked tirelessly to support all of our regional WrestleMania Week activities.

"We now turn our attention to the Dallas/Arlington region for what will surely be a historic WrestleMania 32 (in 2016)."
