September 19 Quotebook

-- The Miz, who is rumored to be working with NXT star Tyler Breeze, commented on Breeze: "There's so much talent down in NXT. I think Tyler Breeze has a lot of potential. I think that there are a lot of guys down there making a lot of noise and should be up on the WWE roster very, very shortly." -- Mark Henry said why he insisted on a 10-year contract with WWE when he signed in the 1990s: "I knew that it was going to take me time to learn the industry; I had never trained in a martial art, or hand-to-hand combat, or wrestled in high school or college, so I was going to be an amateur. I needed a guarantee, because I was already somebody, and I was going to give up my life as a strongman, and a potential NFL football player, to wrestle." Henry noted he was set to try out for the Dallas Cowboys when he got the call from WWF/E. [ LINK: Full Interview at NashvilleScene.com promoting Night of Champions HERE ]

-- Cody Rhodes talked completely in-character as Stardust in an interview with CraveOnline promoting his Tag Title match at Night of Champions. Cody "stepped out of character" a few times to say he wants to wrestle Great Muta and recommend WWE wrestlers take a different approach traveling from city to city.

"I consider myself a bit of a traveler. Obviously Stardust is from somewhere we have yet to divulge but is the exploratory type. Life on the road doing WWE live events with Goldie [Goldust] is unique. I like to explore the various cities we go to. I think that’s something most young men and women in their career, don’t do enough. They’re too straight forward with the actual show itself." [ LINK: Interview HERE ]

-- Former TNA star Christopher Daniels on whether Ring of Honor can replace TNA Wrestling as the #2 U.S. promotion: "I think the talent is there, now it's just a matter of making people aware of Ring of Honor. It's a different forum. Syndicated television is obviously completely different from cable TV and it's just a matter of making everybody know." [ Daniels Interview on the Blake & Sal Show with VIP'er Blake Reilly HERE ]

-- Bret Hart on why he slicked his hair during his wrestling career: "The truth is for me I always wet my hair because it was a way of waking up. You get tired, flying in and driving up and then it's like your finally ready to go out and you gotta deliver in your big match. So, I always used to take a big cold glass of water and pour it over my head and kind of wake myself up before I went out. And then everyone after that is just trying to look like Bret Hart (laughs)." [ LINK: Hart to TSN Canada promoting an upcoming WWE show HERE ]

-- Former WWE/WCW star Marc Mero on the objective of his "Dream Big Tour" reaching students across the U.S.: "We’re just trying to make a difference in kids’s lives, and let them know that there are places to go to get help, but most importantly, we’re trying to get these kids to get up and talk about the adversities they’re going through.” [ LINK: Local News Report HERE ]
