As WWE's PPV market shrinks in the Network era, so do PPV buys in comparison to past years.

WWE reported total WrestleMania 30 buys of 690,000, as compared to 1.039 million for WM29 last year.

WWE reported a break down of 43 percent international buys for all PPVs in the quarter. If the average is applied to Mania, that would break down to 296,700 int'l buys and 393,300 domestic buys. This would match up with what WWE reported earlier this year that domestic WM30 business drew "nearly 400,000 buys."

Other PPV buys included 108,000 for Extreme Rules, only 67,000 for Payback headlined by The Shield vs. Evolution and John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt, and nearly double that figure three weeks later with 122,000 for Money in the Bank, capturing MITB's appeal as a stand-alone PPV.

- From a financial standpoint, WWE reported PPV Revenue of $23.8 million, down 36 percent from the pre-Network Era figure of $37.1 million last year.

The factors include the Network shift in PPV availability, a 6.0 percent decline in revenue-per-buy (reflecting the loss of more-expensive domestic PPV buys), and a "weaker performance in several international markets."
