Former WWE/WCW star Bill Goldberg says he has talked to WWE management about potentially wrestling again, but he suggested the talks have not progressed beyond an initial feeling-out process.

"My last conversation with WWE brass, which was a while ago, was to the effect of I have a seven-year-old son who would love to see me wrestle and whatever differences we've had in the past, if you guys want to make some money and do this again, then I'd then be willing to talk about it. That is my answer," Goldberg told Jim Ross in the latest edition of the "Ross Report" podcast.

Asked if he has a particular opponent in mind for a hypothetical return, Goldberg listed Brock Lesnar, Triple H, or Roman Reigns as three potential names. But, he said he would leave it up to WWE to come up with a gameplan since he's not a booker, just a wrestler.

"Hunter and I will always have unfinished business until the day I die," Goldberg said, referring to their behind-the-scenes issues from Goldberg's first WWE run over ten years ago. "Brock and I have unfinished biz in the ring," Goldberg continued, referring to their "piss-poor" match setting at WrestleMania 20 when Goldberg last wrestled.

Goldberg cited Roman Reigns due to their backgrounds playing college football in Georgia. "Whoever it is, I don't care," Goldberg said. "As long as it makes sense, then I'm in for it."

Goldberg also noted during the interview that he does not watch the WWE product and only knows what's going on through Twitter and what he hears from other people.

"J.R., I haven't watched the product in years," Goldberg said. "I didn't see Taker lose (at WrestleMania). I just heard it through the grapevine how it went down. I talk to Brock frequently and we don't talk business. None of the boys and I ever talk business."

Goldberg's comments point to what Goldberg believes has been held against him his entire career - that his first love was football and wanting to play in the NFL, not pro wrestling, even though he grew up watching wrestling in Oklahoma.

It also captures how Goldberg got into wrestling. Goldberg talked about hanging around WCW stars when he played pro football for the Atlanta Falcons, but never wanted to be one of "those wrestlers." However, he viewed Sting as a credible athlete, family man, and someone who did not fit the mold of "those wrestlers" he did not want to be.

Once Goldberg's NFL career ended, Goldberg found himself in the WCW Power Plant, which he noted included MMA legend Bob Sapp when he was trying to become a pro wrestler.

In the chat with Ross, Goldberg recalled training with Sapp at the Power Plant and indirectly cutting off a potential deal between Sapp and WWE several years later.
