Rob Van Dam is not the only wrestler who will be having a Philadelphia homecoming at the Money in the Bank PPV on Sunday. U.S. champion Dean Ambrose will also be returning to the city where he punished his body for the CZW promotion before joining WWE.

“I was in a lot of really crazy matches and a lot of stuff that you’ll never ever see on WWE television,” Ambrose told Philly.com in an interview promoting the PPV. “I put my body through a lot of abuse for very little money for a long time." Ambrose offered similar comments on this week's edition of WWE's "Raw Backstage Fallout" on YouTube.

Although Ambrose admitted to being "ten times better of a wrestler" now compared to when he first started in WWE, Ambrose says he was "not intimidated when I got to WWE."

“I kind of felt like that I had put myself through so much to get here that there isn’t anybody that’s going to take this away from me," Ambrose said. “I knew what I was capable of. I had the confidence in myself to just know that I’m going to be the guy here and that I am good as anybody else here.”

Ambrose said his biggest adjustment when he debuted on WWE TV with The Shield was learning how to "work for cameras as opposed to just working for an audience." He says that being able to pick the brains of Arn Anderson, William Regal, and Jamie Noble helped his development as the unofficial leader of The Shield.

Regarding The Shield as a unit, Ambrose said that he believes he, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns "fit together like a good puzzle," and it helps that they "travel, train, and study together" with the aim to "constantly get better."

Overall - in a comment that could be interpreted as a work or a shoot - Ambrose said, "We all have the attitude that we want to take this place over and we want to out-work everybody and make everybody raise their game to our level of intensity. If they can’t keep up then they can’t keep up."
