Update May 28: "Fast 6" starring The Rock drew nearly $120 million last weekend, ranking #4 on the all-time list of Memorial Day Weekend box office opens.

The official total was $117,036,995, more than doubling last weekend's other big movie release, "Hangover III." It's worth noting Hangover III was down 50 percent from Hangover II, which also opened on Memorial Day Weekend in 2011.

Update May 26: The Rock's new movie, "Fast 6," is estimated to have drawn nearly $100 million in its opening weekend, easily taking the #1 spot.

According to box office estimates, Fast 6 grossed $98.52 million, more than doubling the other major movie release this weekend, "The Hangover III."

Rock commented Sunday on the movie's performance: "Because of you, FAST 6 breaks box office records ($120m). Thrilled you love the character. More thrilled you love the movie."

Official numbers will be released on Tuesday.

The new "Fast 6" movie starring recent WWE champion The Rock and Vin Diesel drew an estimated total of $38.2 million on Friday to rank #1 at the box office.

Rock tweeted about the opening: "You've made FAST 6 Universal's biggest box office opening of all time."

Fast 6 is blowing away the other major movie release, "Hangover Part III," which has drawn an estimated $14.5 million thus far. Also, a new family movie release, "Epic," has drawn $9.4 million.

Returning movies "Star Trek" ($10.2 million), "Iron Man 3" ($5.1 million), and "Great Gatsby" ($3.9 million) round out the Top 6. All six movies are airing in over 3,000 theaters over Memorial Day Weekend.

The full weekend estimates will be released Sunday and official totals will be released in the middle of next week.
