WWE Raw TV news 5/20

- Raw concluded with a concussion angle involving Triple H, who was unable to finish his TV main event return. Hunter, who was wrestling his first non-PPV TV match in three years, "collapsed" to the floor several times before Raw went off the air with Hunter selling dizziness and a lack of control of his body.

- Hunter's return match was against Michael McGillicutty, who was re-introduced as Paul Heyman's new client. McGillicutty was given a new name of Curtis Axel (playing off his father's name, Curt Hennig, and his grandfather's nickname, Larry "the Ax" Hennig).

- WWE champion John Cena did not appear during Raw. Cena's Extreme Rules opponent, Ryback, announced they will have a return match at the Payback PPV in June. Ryback then challenged Cena to an Ambulance Match at the PPV.

- WWE World Hvt. champion Dolph Ziggler remained off television recovering from a reportedly "serious concussion," meaning both the WWE champion and the World Hvt. champion did not appear on this week's Raw episode.

While Ziggler remains off television, the World Title picture currently features #1 contender Alberto Del Rio, Jack Swagger, Sheamus (who beat Titus O'Neil on Raw), Randy Orton (who beat Jack Swagger in the TV semi-main event), and Big E. Langston (who beat Del Rio with help from A.J. Lee earlier in the show).

- The Shield beat Daniel Bryan, Kane, and Kofi Kingston an excellent, 25-minute six-man tag match that carried over from the end of the second hour to the beginning of the third hour.

- C.M. Punk's name was brought up a few times during the broadcast to continue hinting at his eventual TV return.

- Brock Lesnar, who beat Triple H at Extreme Rules, was temporarily written off TV to explain his next absence from WWE TV. Heyman framed it as Lesnar "fulfilling his obligations to WWE" after beating Hunter at Extreme Rules.

- WWE did not mention or advertise Bret Hart Appreciation Night next week on Raw.

- Announced for Wednesday's Main Event is IC champion Wade Barrett vs. Sin Cara for the Intercontinental Title.

- Announced for Friday's Smackdown is new U.S. champion Dean Ambrose vs. former champ Kofi Kington in a U.S. Title re-match from Extreme Rules.
