WWE released a collection of backstage interviews with the principal players at Extreme Rules on Sunday. Highlights from the in-character interviews hinting at future storyline direction:

- The Miz said he's tired of being on the pre-PPV show and vowed to regain the WWE Title or claim the World Title by the end of the year.

- Playing up the fictional violence of WWE's Extreme Rules PPV, WWE's ringside doctor Michael Sampson talked injuries: Big Show was "dreary" after taking The Punt from Randy Orton, John Cena was evaluated in the trainer's room and was "doing okay," and Triple H will be "monitored" after his match with Brock Lesnar.

- An excitable Randy Orton claimed his foot was hurting after kicking Big Show in the head via The Punt. Orton called the match "magical" and noted his five-year-old daughter was on the front row in his hometown of St. Louis.

- Daniel Bryan freaked out about losing the Tag Titles to The Shield. Kane tried calming down Bryan, who screamed that he is not the weak link. Kane then endorsed The Shield for being the most-cohesive unit he's seen in WWE before previewing a Tag Title re-match.

- Sheamus vowed to return to being a fighter and doing what he does best. This after Mark Henry woke him up during their TV feud before Sheamus beat Henry in the strap match.

- Kofi Kingston vowed to regain the U.S. Title after Dean Ambrose beat him for the title. Kingston played up a story that he was preparing to battle Ambrose, Rollins, and Reigns, so he was caught off-guard when it was only Ambrose.

- Chris Jericho discussed teaching Fandango a lesson and encouraged Fandango to do something "great, not good," with his WrestleMania victory over Jericho.
