Alabama-based publication AL.com published a timeline of events that led up to Paul Bearer's death on Tuesday night, March 5.

- Saturday morning (March 2): Bearer (Bill Moody) attended the Gulf Coast Wrestlers Reunion in Mobile, Ala.

- Saturday night (Mar. 2): Bearer was scheduled to attend another wrestling ceremony at Theodore High School in Theodore, Ala., but Bearer did not make the booking according to pro wrestler "Cowboy" Bob Kelly.

"He told me, 'I'll see you down at the school,' and then he didn't show up," Kelly told the paper. "So I was asking, 'Where's Percy?' Somebody said he had to go the hospital because he had a blood clot, and then I heard he had a respiratory problem. But they told me it was not life-threatening. I wasn't concerned about it."

- Tuesday night (Mar. 5): Kelly says he and Ronnie Garvin were planning to visit Bearer on Wednesday if he was still in the hospital, so he called ahead to see if Bearer had already been released.

"I thought maybe they'd already let him go home. We were planning to go see him the next day," Kelly said of his mindset Tuesday night. "I called a little after 8:00 p.m., and about an hour-and-a-half later, he had passed away, from what I understand. I'm just devastated."

- Although Bearer was having trouble breathing, Kelly said there were no obvious signs that Bearer's condition was to the point of being life-threatening, as Bearer would have kept that to himself.

"There was no way to know he was that sick," Kelly said. "But, that was Percy. He would never miss a booking. He was going to make the show if it killed him. And I guess it did."
