WWE Raw TV taping results
December 29, 2012
Washington, D.C.
Report by Benjamin Tucker, PWTorch TV specialist

Three big items from the Raw TV taping: Wade Barrett captured the Intercontinental Title from Kofi Kingston, John Cena announced his entry in the Royal Rumble, and Paul Heyman will defend C.M. Punk's WWE Title against Ryback on the Jan. 7 Raw if Punk is not "medically cleared" to defend the title.

Dark Match: Alex Riley beat a local jobber.

Superstars SPOILERS 1/3

(1) The Usos beat Prime Time Players.

(2) Brodus Clay beat Primo.

Raw SPOILERS 12/31

Miz TV segment with John Cena and Rhodes Scholars.

(1) John Cena & The Miz beat Team Rhodes Scholars.

(2) U.S. champion Antonio Cesaro beat Sgt. Slaughter to retain the United States Championship.

(3) Team Hell No beat 3MB (Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre) to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship.

There was a segment with WWE champion C.M. Punk, Paul Heyman, and Vince McMahon. Heyman will replace Punk in the WWE Title match next week if Punk is not "medically cleared."

(4) Sheamus defeated Dolph Ziggler by DQ when The Shield interfered.

Divas champion Eve vs. apparently Mae Young never started.

(5) World Hvt. champion Big Show defeated Ricardo Rodriguez by DQ when Alberto Del Rio interfered. Del Rio vs. Big Show was announced for Smackdown.

(6) Wade Barrett beat IC champion Kofi Kingston to win the Intercontinental Championship.

Ryback vs. The Shield never started when a brawl began outside the ring. Sheamus and a returning Randy Orton evened the odds, prompting Shield to leave.

Dolph Ziggler and A.J. held a New Year's Eve celebration that was interrupted by John Cena, who dumped "feces" on the couple. During the segment, Cena announced his Royal Rumble candidacy.

Overall thoughts on Raw: better than last week, a lot of bait and switch, several odd segments, and sloppy matches.

Bonus Dark Match: John Cena & Sheamus beat World Hvt. champion Big Show & Dolph Ziggler, who got the "feces" off to wrestle. Big E. Langston interfered during the match.
