SENATE RESULT: Linda McMahon loses second Senate race in Connecticut, according to Associated Press around 8:30 p.m. EST after polls closed at 8:00 p.m. EST.

Final Update: The Connecticut Mirror reported on Linda's concession speech, noting Vince McMahon was off-camera "acting shy," and showed a picture of Shane McMahon standing next to Linda during her speech. After her speech was over, Linda shot down possibly running for governor of Connecticut in 2014.

"I'm not considering running for governor. I looked at that. We have some really good candidates to run for governor," McMahon said. "That's not an office that I'll be seeking." Asked what's next, McMahon said, "I don't know. I'm going to give some thought to as what I'm going to be doing. I haven't made any specific plans."

11:50 p.m. EST: The latest tally is Chris Murphy leading with 54 percent of the vote to 44 percent for McMahon. This is with 77 percent of votes tallied.

McMahon only won one county - a Republican stronghold of Litchfield. In the bigger counties, Murphy won Hartford 57-41, Murphy won New Haven 56-42 percent, and Murphy won Fairfield 51-48 percent.

10:50 p.m. EST: For what it counts for, "Linda McMahon" was trending on Twitter at the #7 position in the United States. Other trends were political topics in the national presidential race.

10:15 p.m. EST: During her concession speech Tuesday night, Linda McMahon thanked her supporters for helping the campaign, believing in her, and helping her run a "good race." Linda concluded, "I'll see you soon," hinting that she will remain involved in the political world after two Senate losses. However, McMahon said that she does not plan to run for public office again right now.

10:00 p.m. EST: Linda McMahon officially conceded the race to Chris Murphy.

9:50 p.m. EST: A head-scratcher at the end of McMahon's Senate campaign was a TV ad encouraging residents to vote for McMahon (Republican) and Barack Obama (Democrat) for president on the same ballot. The message back-fired, according to local reports that cited Republican voters at polling locations feeling disenfranchised. This is backed by McMahon only getting 89 percent of her party's vote and 80 percent of the conservative vote, according to exit polling.

9:25 p.m. EST: CNN has released additional exit polling information capturing where McMahon was successful and where she failed in the Senate race.

- SUCCESS: McMahon won independent voters 53-43, which counted for 32 percent of the exit polling....FAILURE: McMahon lost moderate voters 52-47 percent, which counted for 48 percent of exit polling.

- SUCCESS: McMahon won among White voters 50-48, which counted for 79 percent of the exit polling.... McMahon lost among minority voters 78-22, which counted for 18 percent of exit polling.

- SUCCESS: McMahon won among White Men 55-43, which counted for 38 percent of exit polling. ... FAILURE: McMahon lost among White Women 52-46, which counted for 41 percent of exit polling.

- SUCCESS: McMahon split 49-49 among voters with income between $50-100k... FAILURE: McMahon actually lost 50-49 among voters with income above $100,000, which counted for 46 percent.

- SUCCESS: McMahon held her own on the economy, trailing Murphy 50-49, which counted for 62 percent. McMahon also won 55-41 on the deficit, which counted for 14 percent, and 61-37 on taxes, which counted for 23 percent ... FAILURE: McMahon lost 58-42 on Unemployment (47 percent), 75-24 on health care (17 percent), and 57-39 on rising prices (21 percent).

- SUCCESS: McMahon won among College Graduates 53-46, which counted for 31 percent.... FAILURE: McMahon lost in every other education category, which counted for the other 69 percent.

- SUCCESS: McMahon won among Catholics 55-44, which counted for 41 percent. ... FAILURE: McMahon lost 54-46 among Protestants, which counted for 34 percent. Within the numbers, McMahon won 59-40 among White Protestants and 57-42 among White Catholics.

9:00 p.m. EST: The coverage out of Connecticut is focusing on McMahon spending approximately $100 million on two unsuccessful Senate races in 2010 and 2012. Final campaign spending will be revealed after the final financial reports are filed, but McMahon could end up spending around (or more than) $50 million on this year's election to combat Murphy and Co. spending $20 million, which made this the most-expensive election in Connecticut history. McMahon has yet to comment.

8:40 p.m. EST update: National TV news outlets covered Linda McMahon's second Senate defeat shortly after the Associated Press called the race for Murphy. The following is Fox News's call.

8:30 p.m. EST update: Half-an-hour after polls closed in Connecticut, the Associated Press projected Chris Murphy as the winner of the Connecticut election.

"Democrat Chris Murphy elected to Senate in Connecticut, defeats pro wrestling magnate Linda McMahon, according to the Associated Press" reads the news report posted on the Hartford Courant.

8:30 p.m. EST update: CNN has Murphy up 64-35 percent with 17,861 votes compared to 9,762 votes for McMahon. Only 2 percent of precincts reporting.

8:25 p.m. EST update: 9 of 704 Precincts Reporting - Murphy up 78-21 percent.

8:15 p.m. EST update: CNN has released exit poll information from 1,866 respondents that shows McMahon winning among men 52-46 percent, but losing among women 41-57 percent in favor of Chris Murphy.

In the exit polling age breakdown, the biggest audience - 45-to-64-year-olds - went to Murphy 52-46 percent. In the next biggest contributor - 30-44-year-olds - McMahon slightly won 50-49 percent. In the other categories, Murphy won the elderly vote 51-46 percent and McMahon was hammered among younger voters 18-29, with Murphy leading 58-39 percent.
