WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross published a new blog on jrsbarbq.com today discussing topics in the news, including Bobby Heenan, Sid Vicious, his announcing future, Linda McMahon's political opponents, and more.

-- Ross said former wrestling manager Bobby Heenan is scheduled for shoulder surgery on August 4. Heenan reportedly broke his shoulder, pelvis, and hip after a fall. Ross also blogged on his memories of working with Heenan in WWE and observing his career as an all-time-great manager.

-- On the wrestling announcing front, Ross said he would accept an offer to resume announcing duties on Raw...if WWE were to completely change their mind on the announcing line-up. Ross said he would prefer not to work a weekly TV announcing gig, but he would accept the role if offered.

"For some reason, fans have asked if I would accept reassignment to Monday Night Raw and/or PPVs. The answer is obviously yes. But why? Simply because I'm a team player and what ever the decision is for how I contribute to the team is simply the way that it will be. I don't look to go back onto weekly TV commentary but making a cameo here and there is a remote possible," Ross said.

"Obviously, what WWE person wouldn't want to be a part of WM27? If I am once again there and if I only watch the event as a fan, that will be fine but 'players' always want to 'play' if they can and many of us veterans generally feel that we have just a little more to give or at least that's usually our mindset."

-- Ross responded to the political ad run by Peter Schiff, one of Linda McMahon's opponents in the Connecticut Senate race, which includes multiple clips of Ross being kicked between the legs by McMahon during a TV angle several years ago.

Ross called it an "an eye rolling, embarrassingly ridiculous ad." He continued: "It comes back to the same thing that I have experienced personally and professionally in my life for years and years...it's another illustration of the pro wrestling bias that exists in so many forms of our society."

-- Ross addressed questions on whether "Psycho" Sid Vicious will return to WWE. Ross said he doesn't anticipate WWE doing business with Sid with the company trying to "get younger."

"I'm not in the loop nor do I know WWE's plans or Sid's physical status. Does Sid even want to get back on the road to any degree? I have no idea but if I had to make a random guess I would suggest that WWE and Sid will likely never do any thing together in a significant way again," Ross said. "I certainly could be wrong because as I said I don't know WWE's plans."

Link: Ross also covers his thoughts on Nexus, the FCW clinic this weekend, Randy Savage's merchandising deal with WWE, and other topics on jrsbarbq.com. Ross also plugged a "free shipping" offer for products on the JR's BBQ storefront this weekend.
