The following are key news and notes from last night's three-hour edition of Raw:

-- Sheamus was booked to win a #1 contender battle royal in the main event of the show to earn a WWE Title match against champion John Cena at the TLC PPV in December. The match will be a tables match.

-- The other match announced announced for the TLC PPV is a Unified tag title match. Chris Jericho & Big Show will defend against DX (Triple H & Shawn Michaels) in a TLC match. WWE briefly acknowledged DX not working together at the Survivor Series PPV the previous night, but WWE quickly went back to them being on the same page with a tag match victory over Hart Dynasty.

-- Big Show was off Raw preparing for knee surgery this week. In setting up the JeriShow vs. DX match at the TLC PPV, Chris Jericho gave a storyline explanation that Show "took a personal day."

-- Raw guest host Jesse Ventura and WWE CEO Vince McMahon went back on the headsets as commentators for the main event #1 contender battle royal.

-- Next week's Raw guest host will be "Mini Me" Verne Tryor, who is best-known from the "Austin Powers" movie series.

-- WWE announced vague details for tonight's ECW TV that ECW champion Christian will begin a program setting up an ECW Title match for the TLC PPV.

-- WWE announced for this week's Smackdown a featured match of Batista vs. Kane. Batista hinted he will be next in line for The Undertaker's World Title, but it was not confirmed.

-- In the Raw vs. Smackdown and Raw vs. Raw qualifying matches for the #1 contender battle royal, R-Truth was the only wrestler from the Smackdown brand who was booked to qualify. The mix was seven Raw wrestlers (Sheamus, Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, Kofi Kingston, MVP, and Mark Henry) and one Smackdown wrestler (R-Truth).

-- WWE advertised ahead of time that all three brands would be appearing on the three-hour Raw, but the ECW brand was not represented on the show.

-- WWE aired the first TV commercial plug for the new Jeff Hardy-themed DVD coming out next Tuesday. The promotional clip included footage of Hardy's burned-down house.
