WWE News: AP reports on accusations against WWE and Linda McMahon for illegal activity Nov 2, 2009 - 1:05:29 PM
The Associated Press covered today's story of WWE and former CEO Linda McMahon being accused of illegal activity related to McMahon's Senate campaign. The report has been circulated by local TV and newspaper websites.
The report focuses on the key issue that Connecticut Democrats allege WWE improperly aided McMahon's campaign by having offensive videos removed from YouTube that could have affected McMahon's campaign as she tries to distance herself from the family business.
"Nancy DiNardo claims World Wrestling Entertainment removed several videos on the Internet site YouTube to help McMahon's campaign. She says the videos showed wrestlers engaging in a simulated rape and other offensive acts," said the AP in the report. "WWE says the videos were removed because they were copyrighted material."
The paragraph from the report leaves out key details that the "simulated rape" scenes were scripted for TV and not actual acts by the wrestlers. Otherwise, the report seems to be making allusions to scandalous activity with wrestlers "caught on camera" outside of the WWE TV workplace engaged in improper activity.
