WWE News: More from Bret Hart interview - whether he'll ever work things out with Shawn Michaels

Former WWE champion Bret Hart doesn't care whether he offended Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, or Vince McMahon in his best-selling autobiography. He said his piece and he's not concerned about patching things up with Michaels.

Hart is trying to move on after the Survivor Series 1997 incident to the point where he would work with WWE and Vince McMahon on a very limited basis and definitely without signing a contract. However, he doesn't need to resolve issues with Michaels to move on with life.

"I'm at that stage in my life where I'd probably hear him out maybe, I don't know," Hart told John Kline in an interview for Blog Talk Radio. "Sometimes you're better off, you don't want to be carrying around a lot anguish, you know, bitterness or anything. Sometimes you're better off letting it go ... I just kind of prefer to stay away from it."

Hart said he's talked to McMahon recently after they worked on Hart's official WWE DVD four years ago. He says it's worth being on good terms right now.

"I try to cooperate with them when I can," Hart said, "but I have no plans at all to appear on any TV show or PPV for them, ever."

Hart doesn't want to be one of those legends who needs a payday to survive or set up financial security for a few months before needing another payday.

"I don't ever want to be in a position where I have to work and actually expect to make a check from them or contract," Hart said. "I've already made a contract with them that they broke, and I don't think you can really do business with them after that. I don't want to be a character in wrestling at all. I don't want to do that again anymore."

Caldwell's Analysis: Time heals some wounds, but not all. It's nice to hear that Hart is in a good position personally and professionally to where he doesn't need to compromise himself or his past beliefs about McMahon and Michaels in order to pick up a payday. If Hart still feels offended by Michaels's actions because Michaels hasn't reached out to be the bigger man, then he doesn't need to compromise those beliefs to appease Michaels in order to have a cordial working relationship with WWE. The beauty of Hart's book is the appearance of zero agenda. In recent interviews, Hart has seemed very content; he doesn't need the wrestling business in his life. That's one reason to truly appreciate Hart's book as one of the most authentic and non-biased wrestling books that could have been written.
