WWE News: Evan Bourne injury update; what he's doing with WWE while recovering from injury Nov 24, 2008 - 2:26:43 PM
Evan Bourne made an appearance on Raw last Monday night to begin an angle with Mike Knox while he recovers from his severe right ankle injury. Although he says he's not able to return to the ring in a wrestling capacity right now, he's still involved with WWE behind the scenes.
"There's nothing I hate more than watching from the sidelines," Bourne told WWE's website. "If I could take off this big cast they stuck me in, I would get in the ring. But it's a serious injury."
While recovering, he's trying to pick the brains of WWE wrestlers and agents to learn more in preparation for when he can return to the ring. WWE says Bourne has been Bourne has been "using his newfound time to learn from WWE veterans around him and to come up with a game plan for his return."
Bourne is working on his upper body to improve his strength while improving "the mental capacity" required of a WWE wrestler. All of this takes time, but Bourne is determined to return 100 percent.
"There is no other focus in my life other than rehabilitation on my ankle and getting ready to go back into the ring," he said.
