WWE News: Second Jeff Hardy "injury" update on his current status before Survivor Series Nov 23, 2008 - 3:26:42 PM
Updating their earlier report, WWE's website says Jeff Hardy has been "released" from a local Boston area hospital. They cite WWE's senior VP for talent relations John Laurinaitis as being "in contact" with Hardy.
"Laurinaitis is investigating the incident. It is questionable as to whether or not Jeff Hardy will perform tonight," WWE is reporting.
WWE's timeline is that Hardy was "found unconscious" at 3:00 a.m. in the stairwell of the Boston hotel where WWE was staying prior to tonight's Survivor Series PPV. WWE then said he was "rushed to a local emergency room."
Caldwell's Analysis: This just reeks of a poorly-thought out Internet storyline that is typical of when a company reaches the desperation point of trying to pop business and/or interest in the product. Following last Sunday's poor decision to run the "anti-UFC PPV" story with a backhanded compliment to Brock Lesnar, Sundays might be a good day to keep the WWE website staff at home or away from the keyboard. This was in poor taste playing off real concerns for Jeff Hardy's long-term health.
