WWE News: World Hvt. champion Chris Jericho's reality show debuts; challenges washed-up singers Oct 23, 2008 - 9:11:22 AM
Chris Jericho's new reality show, "Redemption Song," debuts next Wednesday night at 11:00 p.m. EST on the FUSE music channel. Jericho hosts the contest that will feature 11 former female singers attempting to earn a second chance in the music business.
From the press release: "Redemption Song" is the ultimate entertainment do-over that challenges 11 young women to battle for music stardom while overcoming the demons (bad habits, bad relationships, bad attitude) that may have held them back. Weekly challenges will test their vocal abilities, performance skills and charisma, with eliminations resulting."
The show is billed as "part 'American Idol,' part rehab," with a plug for Chris Jericho as "WWE star and rock singer."
FYI: The Las Vegas Review-Journal published a story on the reality show, focusing on one of the singers named Nyia. On the first episode, Nyia gets into a verbal war with one of the other contestants to set the tone for the show. Article link.
