WWE News: McCain, Obama, and Clinton to make appearances on Raw tonight Apr 21, 2008 - 10:23:43 AM
U.S. presidential candidates John McCain, Barack Obama, and Hillary Clinton will be making taped appearances on tonight's three-hour Raw, according to a report from Broadcasting & Cable.
USA Network confirmed the taped appearances, stating Obama and Clinton wouldn't take up WWE on their in-ring offer. B&C reports: "While they did not take WWE up on the tongue-in-cheek offer, they did agree to tape a message for the audience, as did McCain, whom the network also reached out to as part of its effort to get viewers to the polls."
WWE spokesman Gary Davis said the taped messages were a collaboration between WWE and each candidate's campaign. Davis added that the goal is for the candidates to speak to the young demographic and they "definitely took advantage of the forum". The video messages are still being put together, so WWE would not divulge the content.
