TORCH TRIVIA 1/30: Answer to who Rick Steiner teamed with against the Quebecers on a WWE house show 15 years ago Jan 31, 2009 - 2:45:05 AM
Original question: Way back on January 29, 1994 at a house show in Mt. Pleasant, Pa., Rick Steiner was without his usual tag partner, Scott Steiner, for a tag team match against the Quebecers, who were managed by Johnny "Raven" Polo. Who was Rick's tag partner for the DQ victory?
(a) Road Warrior Hawk
(b) Bob "Sparkplug" Holly
(c) Bob Backlund
(d) Jeff Jarrett
The answer is (c) Bob Backlund. Steiner slammed Pierre for the apparent winning pin attempt, but Jacques shoved the referee before he could count to three, causing a DQ for the Quebecers to retain the WWE tag titles. In other matches on the card, Bob Holly beat Bastion Booger and Jeff Jarrett pinned Jim Powers.
It was the end of the Steiner Brothers era in WWE, and Torch Trivia expert Dusty Robinson points out that Backlund also wrestled later on in the card, where he was defeated by Diesel (Kevin Nash a/k/a Chet Lemon) in 10:00. Sure beats the infamous eight-second WWF Title loss to Diesel. Or maybe not.
