TORCH MONTHLY AWARD VOTING: Results for Best/Worst in pro wrestling for August - C.M. Punk dominates, Rising star - Morrison or Dolph?, Crashing star - Angle or Rey? Sep 6, 2009 - 10:30:00 PM
We've tallied up the totals from the best and worst in pro wrestling during the month of August 2009 in ten monthly categories.
We'll track these throughout the year and keep a running tally to look back in December to see whether the stars at the beginning of the year are still the stars at the end of the year.
MVP of the Month
(1) C.M. Punk (55 percent)
(2) Jeff Hardy (32 percent)
(3) Chris Jericho (5 percent) Punk won MVP of the Month for the third straight month. This time, his percentage of votes was 55 percent compared to 53 percent in July and 43 percent in June.
Best Wrestler of the Month
(1) C.M. Punk (37 percent)
(2t) John Morrison (19 percent)
(2t) Jeff Hardy (19 percent)
(4) Chris Jericho (8 percent)
(5) Dolph Ziggler (6 percent) C.M. Punk scored his first Best Wrestler victory in 2009. Meanwhile, Morrison has been in the Top Two for the past three months.
Best Tag Team of the Month
(1) Chris Jericho & Big Show (30 percent)
(2) Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase, Jr. (28 percent)
(3) Shawn Michaels & Triple H (11 percent)
(4) Beer Money (8 percent)

(3) Hamada (12 percent)
(4) Melina (10 percent)

(1) John Morrison (28 percent)
(2) Dolph Ziggler (27 percent)
(3t) Sheamus (9 percent)
(3t) Hernandez (9 percent)
(5) Matt Morgan (7 percent) John Morrison has won three straight months. It was 44 percent in June, 67 percent in July, and now 28 percent in August. Sandwiched in there was Chavo Guerrero, who only received nine percent of the votes last month. The program with Hornswoggle never ended, so the visibility for Chavo increased leading to more votes for this category.
