We've tallied up the totals from the best and worst in pro wrestling during the month of June 2009 in ten monthly categories.
We'll track these throughout the year and keep a running tally to look back in December to see whether the stars at the beginning of the year are still the stars at the end of the year.
MVP of the Month
(1) C.M. Punk (43 percent)
(2) Chris Jericho (32 percent)
(3) The Miz (4 percent)
(4) Kurt Angle (4 percent) Punk de-throned Chris Jericho, who won the month of May with 26 percent. Jericho's monthly percentage actually went up six percent. It was Punk's first Top Five finish in 2009.
Best Wrestler of the Month
(1) Chris Jericho (49 percent)
(2) John Morrison (18 percent)
(3) Rey Mysterio (11 percent)
(4) Kurt Angle (5 percent)
(5) C.M. Punk (5 percent) Chris Jericho won for the second straight month. His percentage jumped from 30 percent in May to nearly 50 percent in June. John Morrison also finished second for the second straight month. Jericho's share jumped 20 percent while Morrison's share dropped slightly from 21 percent to 18 percent.
Best Tag Team of the Month
(1) Beer Money, Inc. (35 percent)
(2) Chris Jericho & Edge (30 percent)
(3) Hart Dynasty (18 percent)
(4) Carlito & Primo Colon (9 percent) Beer Money won for the second straight month. Last month, they grabbed 34 percent. This month, 35 percent.
Female Wrestler of the Month
(1) Maryse (23 percent)
(2) Daffney (21 percent)
(3t) Tara (14 percent)
(3t) Mickie James (14 percent)
(5) Angelina Love (11 percent) Maryse won for the first time this year, knocking off Angelina Love. Daffney had an impressive showing, reflecting her strong weekly showings in the TNA Impact MVP polls we run each week.
Match of the Month
(1) Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho - WWE The Bash PPV (42 percent)
(2) Jeff Hardy vs. Edge - WWE Extreme Rules PPV (14 percent)

Other Notable: 6/6 ROH TV - Lynn vs. Aries vs. Black vs. Danielson (5 percent) The last two months, Jericho has been involved in five out of the top ten matches of the month. Also of note, Rey vs. Jericho from the Judgment Day PPV in May also grabbed 42 percent of the votes to win that month.
Promos of the Month
(1) C.M. Punk's "I'm not a heel" promos after MITB cash-in (30 percent)
(2) Miz's "I'm Awesome" promos on John Cena (28 percent)
(3) Chris Jericho's promos on Rey Mysterio (15 percent)

(5) Raven's return promos on TNA Impact (7 percent) Miz's promo series on John Cena grabbed 64 percent of the vote in May, but C.M. Punk snatched first place from Miz for his series of promos trying to explain himself after cashing in the MITB briefcase on Jeff Hardy.

(3) Jack Swagger (7 percent) Torch readers went with Morrison or Punk this month. Last month, Morrison came in second place to former tag partner The Miz with 20 percent. This month, he grabbed 24 percent more votes as WWE continued to feature him in more main event-type situations.
Crashing Star of the Month
(1) Shelton Benjamin (18 percent)
(2) MVP (16 percent)
(3) The Miz (16 percent)
(4) ECW brand (14 percent)
(5) Samoa Joe (7 percent) The Miz grabbed 54 percent of the voting for Rising Star in May. One month later, he was Top Three on the Crashing Star list. Losing clean twice to John Cena on back-to-back nights at the end of June didn't help matters. Meanwhile, Samoa Joe has made the Top Five in Crashing Star three out of the last four months.
