WWE News: Review of Mr. Kennedy's "Behind Enemy Lines" DVD classified as "really bad, I mean really bad"
There might be a reason why WWE took the third installment of the "Behind Enemy Lines" series on the straight-to-DVD route, as the movie might not have made it to U.S. theaters based on an initial review of the movie.
"I had no idea what I was in for," said one reviewer on entertainment website mania.com. "Behind Enemy Lines: Columbia is really bad. I mean, really bad."
The reason, predictably, is the content of the movie that follows a WWE Studios formula of tons of action sequences, unrealistic dialogue, and plenty of unnecessary violence.
"The second half of the movie is a series of action sequences, corny jokes, and laughable dialogue that you've seen a million times before in a million other movies, only they were done in a far more interesting fashion in those movies," the reviewer said.
TNA News: Team 3D and Motor City Machineguns capture tag titles; Kurt Angle & Kevin Nash re-create NWO (w/VIDEO)
Earlier today in Japan, TNA and New Japan Pro Wrestling re-created the Global Impact event for the annual Jan. 4 Tokyo Dome show. TNA cameras were on-hand to film the key events and match-ups, including title victories for two TNA teams.
After the success of last year's "Global Impact" TV special that aired on Spike TV, TNA will bring back a similar special later this month featuring Team 3D and the Motor City Machineguns capturing tag team title gold.
Brother Ray & Brother Devon defeated Togi Makabe & Toru Yano in a hardcore match to capture the IWGP Tag Team Titles, and Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin defeated Yujiro & Naito to become IWGP Junior Hvt. tag champions.
In the main event of the show, Kevin Nash reunited with former NWO Japan member Masahiro Chono to form an honorary Main Event Mafia team that also included Kurt Angle and Riki Choshu to defeat Giant Bernard (A-Train) & Takashi Iizuka & Tomohiro Ishii & Karl Anderson.
Considering that two TNA teams captured tag title gold, TNA fans can expect return matches when New Japan wrestlers make special appearances in the U.S. in coming months. TNA's website reports that "several big names from New Japan will be traveling to the United States to compete."
