Some Random Housekeeping Notes on PWTorch's Website Oct 16, 2007 - 3:08:30 AM
Just a few things worth mentioning regarding the functioning of the new site design which debuted a couple weeks back...
-If you click on the top main PWTorch.com logo from anywhere on the site, it takes you back to the Main Page. I use it all the time when navigating through the site, but it might be something easy to never realize (a lot of sites do this, and I didn't know it until recently when someone suggested I do it).
-If you want to view all recent articles of a particular category, there is the Drop Menu titled "Select by Category" right under the Main Listing header which will take you to, for instance, all of the WWE News updates or all of the PPV Report. It's a quick way to navigate if you're looking for something specific.
-For VIP members, the Search link under the main PWTorch logo is now working.
-We are looking to receive reports on TV tapings and house shows for WWE and TNA. Our former TNA Impact correspondent is not attending tapings any more, so we'd love to get someone else who attends to become a regular correspondent for us. If you ever attend any live event - house show or TV taping - we really appreciate those who take the time to type up and send us reports.
-For VIP members, we're still working to convert all of the archives to the new website format and we're adding to our Editor's Picks of the best and most relevant 75 articles from each year's complete set of Pro Wrestling Torch back issues. We've gotten nice feedback on that and I will be compiling more Editor's Picks lists in coming weeks and months.
-If you notice any bugs anywhere on the site, let us know. We've gone through one big checklist of tweaks, but plan to send another to our web designer and programmer next week to hopefully catch anything that lingers.
-I continue to try to go through emails from readers who volunteered to contribute to the site and we'll be adding more special features in coming weeks to go along with amped up news updates, reports, blogs, and columns. Even if you're not interested in actually contributing yourself, but have ideas for things you'd like to see on the site, let me know.
-Thanks to everyone for your kind words on the site redesign. It's been a blast working with the new upgraded server, software, and design layout. I'm pleased it's been received so well by readers. I am happy to be able to feature the art of Neal Obermeyer, Grant Gould, Joseph Borzotta, and soon Jess Hickman - who each have distinctive styles and really add a visual hallmark to the new site design. If you are an artist interested in contributing to the site, drop me a line. We'd love to add more talented art to our stories.
