Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler introduced the program. The Undertaker came to the ring on his motorcycle. Just as he was about to speak, the McMahon-Helmsley regime interrupted. Triple H welcomed Undertaker back to the WWF and said already he has done him a huge favor. He credited him for saving him the effort of beating Rock himself. Undertaker said he doesn't do anything for anybody except himself. He said the WWF Title belongs to him. The McMahon-Helmsley regime began to surround Undertaker in the ring, but Rock then came out to interrupt the plan. Vince McMahon tried to drive a wedge between Undertaker and Rock by telling Rock how selfishly Undertaker has operated since his return. Vince booked a TV main event between Rock and Undertaker. The crowd popped huge...

(1) D-Lo Brown & Perry Saturn & Terri beat Godfather & Dean Malenko & Kat when Saturn pinned Malenko at 3:40... Edge & Christian saw Joe C in the hallway and asked for a photograph with him. After taking a picture, they said they loved him in Austin Powers. Joe C told them they were dumbasses...

(2) Eddie Guerrero (w/Chyna) pinned Kurt Angle at 3:38 to retain the European Title. The end came when Chyna interfered with a low-blow... Edge & Christian told Joe C they were just clued in who he really was. They said they wanted to honor him with a five second pose, but they wanted to be politically correct, so they asked him if he was a midget, a dwarf, an gnome, or an Ewok.

(3) Too Cool beat Edge & Christian at 3:23 to capture the WWF Tag Team Titles. The finish came when Joe C hit Christian between the legs from behind with a hockey stick as Christian was about to hit Grand Master with a tag belt. Too Cool, Rikishi, and Joe C danced in the ring after the match... Vince bragged to Stephanie about having another surprise for Rock and Undertaker. The lights went out and someone attacked Vince as Stephanie screamed...

(4) Rikishi beat Shane McMahon at 2:45 by DQ to advance in the King of the Ring tournament. Triple H came out and interfered for the DQ. Rikishi set up Stinky Face for Triple H, but Shane nailed Rikishi with a stiff chairshot first. They gave Rikishi a Pedigree on a chair. Shane covered Rikishi and counted to three... Stephanie told Test, Prince Albert, Trish, and Val that they failed last week to take out Chris Benoit, so she had another challenge where they can redeem themselves - a six-man tag later. She said they better get it right this time.

(5) Test & Prince Albert & Val Venis (w/Trish Stratus) beat Chris Jericho & Matt & Jeff Hardy at 3:30 thanks to interference from Trish... Cole interviewed Rock who said he will do what it takes to be WWF Champ again...

(6) Bob Holly beat Chris Benoit by DQ when Jericho interfered. Benoit was unhappy with Jericho's interference... Holly swung at both Benoit and Jericho, but they ducked. Benoit chased Holly to the back. Jericho followed with a chair... Kelly interviewed Undertaker who said he has no beef with Rock and he kind of "digs his stuff"... McMahon told the regime they would put the icing on the cake of Rock and Undertaker later...

(7) Bull Buchanan (w/Big Bossman) beat Steve Blackman (w/Al Snow) at 3:20. Messy. Bossman attacked Blackman and Snow with the night stick after the match...

Chris Jericho introduced Kid Rock who then performed. He was bleeped saying f---... Edge & Christian stuffed Joe C into a trash can and then smashed it and turned it upside down into a trash bin...

(8) The Rock vs. The Undertaker. Vince turned the Rock-Undertaker match into a lumberjack match. Rock and Undertaker beat on the Regime members at ringside. A battle royal atmosphere ensued. Kane then came out for his surprise return and chokeslammed Triple H. He grabbed the WWF Title belt and held it in the air as Rock and Taker stood next to him over the fallen body of Triple H. The Regime stood on the rampway looking on in horror.

The first segment of Raw, due to storyline depth and the skills of those involved, was stretched out into a full quarter-hour. In contrast, at the same time on Nitro, WCW only got three or four minutes out of Goldberg's return with material that could have been stretched into a longer but still compelling segment. The ratings competition is less intriguing since Goldberg was shown leaving the arena halfway into the first head-to-head segment so there won't be a full 15 minutes to compare.
