The opening montage aired... Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler introduced the show while Edge & Christian and the Acolytes came to the ring. Christian announced that they had hired the Acolytes to watch their back since they had issued an open challenge to any tag team looking for a title shot. After Edge cut his promo, the Acolytes announced they were refunding Edge & Christian's money so they could kick their asses...

(1) Edge & Christian beat The Acolytes by DQ at 3:36. Late in the match, Christian brought the timekeeper's bell into the ring and hit Faarooq with it while the ref was distracted. Bradshaw picked up the bell and hit Edge with it in front of the ref for the DQ...

The McMahon-Helmsley Regime came to the ring for a promo. Ross sent best wishes to Earl Hebner "who is still recovering" from "injuries" suffered on Smackdown. Triple H took the mic and mocked Hebner's injuries by saying he got what he deserved. Triple H challenged Rock to a 60 minute Iron Man Match at the Judgment Day PPV. Vince took the mic and started to talk, but was interrupted by Chris Jericho's entrance. Jericho walked onto the stage and cut a promo on Vince. Jericho said that Vince built the WWF to cover up the fact that he has a small penis. Vince got upset and guaranteed Jericho would leave the building without the Intercontinental Title. He announced Jericho would defend the belt against Kurt Angle, the Dudleys would wrestle Gerald Brisco in a table match, and Rikishi would wrestle Pat Patterson. Vince noted that the matches sounded crazy, but added that there is a fine line between genius and insanity...

(2) Chris Jericho beat Kurt Angle with the Liontamer at 5:33 to retain the WWF Intercontinental Title. Angle dominated the slow-paced match until Jericho locked in his finisher at the end... Backstage, Show threatened Shane, but Shane talked his way out of getting beat up. Shane claimed he was trying to get Show angry before an Intercontinental Title match against Jericho. As Show walked away, Shane made a phone call...

(3) Eddie Guerrero (w/Chyna) beat Godfather (w/'hos) when D-Lo Brown interfered at 2:19. After D-Lo's interference, Eddie hit a missile dropkick on Godfather and scored the pin...

(4) The Dudleys beat Test & Albert & Gerald Brisco at 4:31 in a two-on-three table match. In the end, the Dudleys 3D'd Test through a table in the ring for the win. Afterward, Road Dogg, X-Pac, and Tori ran in and attacked the Dudleys. Dogg and X-Pac put Buh Buh on top of a table and allowed Brisco to splash on top of him. Brisco took off his shirt and posed to "Real American"... Backstage, Shane pumped up Show for his match against Jericho...

(5) Chris Jericho beat Big Show (w/Shane McMahon) at 3:14 by countout. Late in the match, footage aired from earlier in the night of Shane McMahon talking on a phone after Show left the room. The footage showed Shane mocking Show and claiming he had him wrapped around his finger. In the ring, Show got mad and chased Shane to the back for the countout. Backstage, Shane jumped inside a car and left the building... In another part of the backstage area, Vince told Stephanie not to worry about Jericho because he still had to wrestle Chris Benoit... A short video aired as an on-screen graphic noted, "Kid Rock is coming to Raw is War"...

(6) Too Cool beat Bull Buchanan & Big Bossman at 3:58. Late in the match, Bossman hit his finisher on Scotty Too Hotty, but the ref was too busy arguing with Buchanan to make the count. Grand Master Sexay climbed to the top rope and hit the "Hip Hop Drop" on Bossman which enabled Scotty to get the pin... Backstage, Chris Benoit told Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn to stop arguing. Eddie Guerrero walked into the room and told Saturn to be nice to Malenko "and maybe he'll give you a title shot." Benoit, Malenko, and Saturn walked away in disgust...

(7) The Hardys beat Dean Malenko & Perry Saturn at 3:22. After the match, Eddie and Chyna walked to the ring. Later, Saturn clotheslined Eddie while Malenko clotheslined Chyna...

(8) Rikishi beat Pat Patterson & Road Dogg & X-Pac by DQ at 1:43 in a three-on-one match. In the end, Patterson hit Rikishi with a chair for the DQ. Afterward, Patterson took off his shirt and pants revealing a huge brown stain in his shorts. Patterson gave Rikishi the Stinkface for a pop... Backstage, Michael Cole interviewed Chris Benoit about his match against Jericho... In another part of the backstage area, Kevin Kelly interviewed Jericho... A shot aired of Shane McMahon returning to the arena...

Lillian Garcia started to introduce the main event, but Triple H's music interrupted her. Triple H walked to the ring wearing a referee's shirt and introduced himself as the "special trouble shooting ringside referee"...

(9) Chris Benoit beat Chris Jericho at 7:04 to win the WWF Intercontinental Title. Benoit dominated the majority of the offense throughout the opening minutes. Late in the match, Triple H entered the ring and punched out the in-ring ref, making himself the only referee. Later, Jericho locked in the Lion Tamer on Benoit. Stephanie walked to ringside. Triple H ignored Benoit tapping out and walked over to trade kisses with Steph. Jericho released the hold and kicked Triple H twice. As soon as Jericho turned back to Benoit, Triple H punched him from behind. Benoit locked Jericho in the Crippler's Crossface. Although Jericho never tapped out, Triple H immediately called for the bell and awarded Benoit the match by submission. Afterward, the rest of the MHR came to the ring and beat up Jericho. Vince picked up a chair and set up to hit Jericho, but Rikishi, Big Show, Too Cool, and the Dudleys ran in for the show-ending save.
