WWE Survivor Series Reax #6: "Two months ago, fans never would have bought Kofi vs. Orton because Kofi wasn't in Orton's league"

-- 11/22 WWE Survivor Series PPV Reax

Double A of Raleigh, N.C. (5.0): The show was relatively predictable. Did anyone really think Taker or Cena was going to drop their respective titles? My biggest complaint is that Michaels didn't win - he could have gone on to have four-star matches as the defending champ right up to WrestleMania. Biggest surprise was Team Miz going over so strong. It certainly looks like Morrison is becoming "Jannetty" right now. At the same time, while I'm not a huge fan of stables, a group of Miz, Sheamus, and McIntyre as the Future would be awesome to pay tribute to the Horsemen. Miz on the mic, Sheamus as the enforcer, and Drew playing the Tully Blanchard role. It could be the team of the next three years. Christian was by far the most entertaining and deserving of the three major champions. Talk about making lemonade out of lemons. I was pissed when he ended up on ECW, but whoever is booking ECW gets him and knows how to utilize him better than anyone ever has. If I thought they'd ever give him a legitimate shot to beat Cena, they'd get my money.

Justin Shook, USC student (9.0): Best Match: HBK vs. Triple H vs. Cena. Worst Match: Divas. I honestly hope when Raw starts tonight, HBK and Triple H come out all buddy buddy, walk to the ring throwing glowsticks and promoting merchandise, get in the ring and shake hands, and then I hope Shawn takes Hunters head off. I don't know if fans will buy Michaels as a heel, but he's too good to be forced on the world as the goofy guy he's been since his return. That said, Survivor Series was impressive. It had the right formula by letting the veterans showcase themselves and by putting over the right new stars. I don't take Miz winning the opening match to mean much, as WWE seems to be good at pushing him and then quickly pulling back on the choke cord. Kofi winning is another story. His push has been so well-executed. Two months ago, fans never would have bought Kofi vs. Orton because Kofi was small-time and not in Orton's league. Now, it's my most anticipated match for TLC. That was the best six seconds of WWE programming I've seen in years with the finish of Kofi's match. The World Title match was pretty blah because Y2J didn't get the belt, but otherwise it was fine. So, Rey is gone for some legit injuries. That's fine, but where does Big Dave go from here? Fans aren't accepting him as a heel, so I guess Taker is the next logical choice. WWE could turn my pet cat heel by putting him in the ring with the crowd favorite that is The Undertaker. As for the main event, I am an outspoken HBK man. He always steals the show, and this was no exception. Shawn worked the hardest, was the most over with the fans, and was truly the MVP of the night. I wonder what Hunter thinks about the crowd going nuts for the "kick heard round the world?" Did WWE think they would boo? This was the fans telling WWE to be done with DX already. It was the perfect way to open a four-star match. Shawn's multiple Sweet Chin Musics on Triple H and Cena were sweet. There were great nearfalls, and I honestly didn't know who was going to win. Good job WWE. I haven't said this in a while, but it seems WWE may be getting back on track.
