ECW TV Reax #1: "C.M. Punk scoring the pin in the main event made Smackdown seem more important than ECW"

-- 11/17 ECW TV Reax

Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (7.0): Best: Punk/Regal vs. Christian/Truth. Worst: Punk-Christian promo. ECW is going to Survivor Series. Too bad they're going in as lackeys instead of having their own triple-threat match. Did Ryder piss someone off? I just don't like how this storyline with Benjamin is working. And Rosa just plain annoys me, as well as brings Ryder down from the good place he was at. I wish there was more time spent on this, but at least time was taken to take in Burchill's loss and its effects on Paul and Katie. I haven't heard anything about Paul Burchill being released outright, so I'm guessing he'll be a "free agent" like Batista and end up elsewhere. For once, the top rope corner move actually led to a clean finish! Between Christian and Tiffany, Tiff's response to Punk's Straight Edge lifestyle was less condescending in words. Checking the definition of "prude," it does fit Punk in terms of his preachiness of his lifestyle. However, in her comments, she makes herself to be a party girl when not on the job. To come across a little more professional, a mention of "moderation" would have done the trick. Christian, on the other hand, extends Straight Edge to Punk's personal life, which Punk was given no chance to explain. It doesn't make the face look very good there. Archer gets another squash win, which should mean he will be mixing with the small roster soon. What he has in his arsenal looks okay, but what else is there? The only thing wrong with the main event was Punk getting the pin. I could understand Punk getting in plenty of licks for Christian's insult, but Regal's title match loss is higher in my book in terms of getting heat back. It just makes Smackdown seem more important than ECW.

-- 11/16 WWE Raw Reax

A.A. Norman of Tulsa, Okla. (9.5): Best: Main event. Worst: Roddy's promo. There really was nothing that made me cringe, except wondering if Rowdy Roddy was drunk when he was in the ring calling Vince out. Congrats to WWE for having one of the best shows of the year. I hope the ratings reflected the fact that the wrestlers and creative team put forth a lot of effort on this show. Highlights for me were Santino's pandering to the New York crowd, WWE pushing Kofi as a legit star against Randy Orton, and the main event. They might have actually convinced me to buy a PPV.
