-- 10/20 ECW TV Reax

Craig Bursch of Duluth, Minn. (9.0): Best Match: Christian vs. Jericho. Worst Match: None really. I can never give ECW a 10.0 rating, as there is too much time wasted showing Raw and Smackdown highlights. However, this episode was as close as it can come to being a 10.0. Every segment was meaningful, every appearance contributed to the whole, and every match did what it needed to do and more. Well-written and well-executed. I have to hand it to all the main performers tonight - Ryder, Tatsu, Shelton, Sheamus, Christian, Jericho, Tiffany, Regal, et al. Just a great overall show. There is a reason that I record ECW, Superstars, and Smackdown each week and skip Raw entirely.

Justin Shook of Columbia, S.C., USC student (9.0): Best Match: Christian vs. Y2J. Worst Match: None. I was at The Colonial Life Arena and got to see this live. I could not have gotten a better show. First we get Y2J talking with Abraham Washington. Jericho makes everything better, even Washington! I think Tiffany is doing a terrific job with her role. She's the boss, and that is getting more and more obvious as we go. Y2J said he wouldn't leave, so she booked him against the champ. Regal showed no respect to her and she quickly informed Regal that until he accepts her as the authority figure then he will continue to be on the outside of the ECW title picture. She established dominance over HER show, and that was great to see. The number one contender match was a perfect example of how to book a fun match that was not only athletic, but it also made sense. Yoshi and Ryder have both been winning and also both seem to be over with the crowds. They have worked hard week in and week out. Now they both get a chance to compete for the belt. Raw and Smackdown should take notice because this is how it's done. The live crowd was way into Yoshi! Hurricane is always fun to watch and I'm enjoying his feud with Burchill. The Sheamus match was fun and did what it needed to, which was to let the hometown boy Shelton Benjamin make the save and get the gigantic crowd reaction he deserves. He could be main-eventing Raw right now. Benjamin was clearly glad to be home!

The main event of Y2J vs. Christian could have headlined any WWE PPV this year. In fact I'd pay to see this match for the WWE Title before I would to see the Cena-Orton Last Man Standing match anyday. Both guys are tremendous in the ring. I was surprised to see Y2J take the loss, but not in a bad way. It made Christian seem all the more credible as the champ and took no heat away from Jericho. Great booking, great athleticism, and all around great matches. The show gets a 9.0 because Y2J vs. Christian should have been promoted. You don't put a major player on ECW and not mention it at all. Especially if that major player is going to compete! That said, I can't wait for ECW next week.
