Adam Bulava of St. Paul. Minn. (7.0): Best Match: Jericho vs. Triple H. Worst Match: Chris Benoit vs. Batista. Now I like Christ Benoit, but he's faced Batista so many freaking times over the last six months it makes me sick. Jericho and Triple H is a feud that could be brought back to life since its been over three years since they have really feuded. It was a kind of blah Raw. Also, I cannot and will not feel sorry for Kane. He raped Lita. Beat up her boyfriend/fiance. Married her against her will. How exactly is this supposed to make him a face because some wrestler who everyone knows and thinks is a jobber supposed to make Kane a good guy? Give me a break.
Peter Sterpe of Oswego, N.Y. (8.0): Best Match: HBK vs. Christian, Worst Match: Hurricane & Rosey vs. La Resistance. This was an above average Raw. The show started off strong with Y2J interupting Triple H, and Edge holding the title belt. The Christian-Michaels match was PPV quality, even though HBK should not have gotten a win, especially a clean one, as he didn't need it. The whole Benoit-Batista-Orton thing was okay. It shows how much Benoit has been buried if you compare the crowd reaction in MSG from now and WMXX. The World Tag Team Title match was dumb. Okay, Raw has three tag teams. Last week Rosey & Hurricane beat Rhyno & Tajiri clean, and this week the champs squash them. Real impressive tag team division. The whole Eugene-Bischoff think was pretty dumb. I don't think I will vote on the match because I just don't care who wins. The Women's Title situation is okay I guess. I kinda likes the Holly-Keibler match. The main event was okay, except for the fact that Y2J was pinned after a finisher from one of the guys Hurricane beat last week. Y2J should be main-eventing, not jobbing to Triple H on Raw, and in the secondary title division. I didn't really like the ending, either. Wow! It's Orton and he's RKOing everybody, even the good guys! Orton is not Steve Austin. I think WWE was afraid that people wouldn't vote for Orton. I know I wouldn't have. I'm voting for Edge, as that is the only match that is at all new. (Just for fun I'm voting for Coach to get an IC Title shot, too)
Adam J. Grammas of Westchester, Ill.: I ate a lot of spicy food last night and spent an hour this morning in the bathroom with a bad case of the Snitskys. So let me get this straight - a month ago this guy was a jobber no one heard of, and now and demolishes the monster heel so bad Kane can't do his trademark situp? I can just see his t-shirts now-"It's not....my....FAULT!!" It's a marketing bonanza! I wonder how many women who have actually had miscarriages and had to really go through it enjoyed the segment with Lita? Now that HBK is in the twilight of his career, it's great to see his return dedicated to getting... himself over. Let's see, the girl who lost the Diva Search gets mic time and pulls off the heel role well, and the winner doesn't say a word. Hmmmm... Maven, there's the Lost and Found, see if they have your impact on the business. It appears Orton's push will continue as a combo of both The Rock and Stone Cold. Let's see how that goes.
Brian Wisniewski of Fredonia, N.Y. (6.0): Best match: HBK vs. Christian. Worst match: Hurricane/Rosey vs. La Resistance (seriously, how many times have I seen this match?). Okay, so the Taboo Tuesday hype is definitely in full swing now. I was not happy that HBK defeated Christian, but considering he is on the ballot to fight Triple H, it makes sense. It was a very good match, and I hope that this match wasn't the blowoff to what could be a great feud. I do have a few complaints with this show. First of all, the main event could have been good, even with the lumberjack stipulation, but it was too short and had a stupid ending. What did Rhyno do to deserve that? I didn't feel it would make sense for him to be the one involved in that small in-match storyline with Jericho. Also, they are making Randy Orton look more and more like Steve Austin. Come on, how many times in the past did you see Stone Cold get kicked out, and then come back in the main event and Stunner everyone. Replace Stunner with RKO and that's what Orton's doing. I feel it's very stale and his momentum is fading fast. He is just not cut out to be a face, but there's no turning back now. So Gene Snitsky gets to beat up Kane? Apparently there's only one line in this guy's vocabulary ("It's not my fault!), but his facial reactions after beating up Kane and looking at the lead pipe and such were priceless. He definitely looks like a maniac, and I wonder what they're doing with that character. Carmella looked absolutely gorgeous tonight. Too bad I don't care about this storyline between her and Christy. And another thing, does the WWE actually expect anyone to vote for Edge when the other choices are HBK and Benoit?
