WWE Raw Reax #2: "The Vickie Guerrero segment was either a mean-spirited send-off or a completely pointless waste of everyone's time" Jun 9, 2009 - 2:18:26 AM
Alex Roberts in the U.K. (1.0): Words fail me. Apparently WWE is just doomed to repeat the exact same mistakes on an endless loop for the rest of time. In essence, the show was an eternally frustrating mess that further proved how completely out of touch with reality and general common sense the WWE is. The sad thing is everything started so well. Months too late, Legacy finally looked like a killer heel group taking out Batista in dominant and convincing fashion and from there everything fell apart. The non-existent undercard did nothing of any value again, which is a shame because the WWE is wasting the likes of Jamie Noble, The Brian Kendrick, Kofi Kingston, and even Santino and Chavo Guerrero. If WWE actually used these guys, they could have a fantastic mid-card on Raw. It was also another week of non-reaction for MVP and WWE desperately needs to do something about that. Maybe they should try giving him an actual feud? A radical idea, I know, but I think it might work because when the live crowd couldn't care less about MVP declaring he should be part of a WWE Title match then something is very wrong. The Vickie Guerrero segment was either an incredibly poor taste and mean-spirited send-off for Vickie Guerrero or a completely pointless waste of everyone's time. Neither is an appealing option especially since I have a horrible feeling that Vickie was sacrificed to a McMahon taking over as Raw GM. Thankfully, The Miz was on hand to provide the weekly Raw highlight. His segment with Maryse was great and WWE should absolutely think about pairing those two up full time because its potentially heel gold. His pre-match promo was another good one. While I can understand milking the surprising anticipation for Miz-Cena one-on-one, the way in which they did it was awful. Surely at some point the WWE will realize that nobody cares about this Big Show-Cena feud, right? Not even Cena seemed to care about his feud with Show during his backstage promo; he did however seem much more engaged with The Miz angle. Seriously, Show and Cena have been feuding since WrestleMania and at no point during that time has anyone cared at all but for some reason the WWE is still plugging away at this train wreck. The Miz going chair happy on Show was strangely gratifying.
But the stubborn, out-of-touch-with-reality persistence of Triple H vs. Randy Orton overshadows everything else on WWE television right now. Nose-diving ratings heading into WrestleMania and a heatless Mania main event should have been giant indicators that the WWE got it very wrong with these two, but apparently nobody that matters picked up on any of that because we're right back where we were in February. Triple H destroys Legacy in seconds and then beats the hell out of Orton. Now WWE, tell me why I'm going to tune in next week when I've just seen Triple H get his revenge and you've made it abundantly clear that Orton and Legacy are no match for the mighty Game? And why am I going to buy a PPV involving these two? And why do I care about this angle when Triple H has already had his glorious moment? And how stupid and inept does Legacy look right now? And how absurdly weak does Orton, your top heel, look? And how stupid does Batista look after trying and failing to down Orton and Legacy for two months not to mention actually being injured by them earlier in the show? This is just an endless cycle of frustration and stupidity wrapped up in one man/family's giant ego(s). He's been back for 15 minutes and already Triple H has made Raw completely unwatchable. That may be a record. Although it has been heading that way for a long time now.
