Ian Denbow of Bowie, Md. (0.1): Best Match: The recap of last week. Worst Match: Getting TNA'd again. So I sat down to watch TNA this week, hoping upon hope that TNA wouldnt do what they are famous for, and that is teasing something in such a way that they kind of have to do it, and then not. I see Jeff Jarrett come out with his guitar. Okay, seriously. we get it. You're a redneck. At first, I disagreed with the rest of what I've read on here and Jason Powell's site about the guitar, but in a few short weeks, I've come to fully agree. He rambles on about how he's the owner, blah blah blah. At one point, I almost thought that Jarrett was going to side with the veterans when he was talking about A.J. having Angle's medals (after all, Jarrett IS a veteran). No - not the case. And wow, how easy was it for Angle to goad Jarrett into a match. Really, after this segment, I turned it off, though, because the moment TNA pulled their usual schtick (or being TNA'd) and said that Mick Foley would be there NEXT week (as I had predicted they would to my fiancee before the show even began), I immediately lost the care to even watch this show. I was willing to miss seeing Velvet Sky based soley on the fact that I honestly cannot stand how TNA makes a big deal about something, and then just blue balls their viewers. Yes, WWE does that as well, but it's nowhere near on the level of aggrivation that TNA does it with. So you signed what you are calling your greatest acquisition. Awesome. He appears on a video the first week for about 15 seconds. The next week, he's not even on? What the hell? Someone with half a brain needs to sit TNA creative down and give them some basic fan appreciation tips. I'll probably watch next week to see Mick Foley, and then write you all to complain that the only Foley material we got was in the last 10 seconds of the show where he'll come out of the entrance way with some music playing, and Kurt Angle will be dumbfounded. And then the show will close (After all, it's what they did with Jarrett). I've said this before - it's not Rocket Science to appease your viewers. Yes, you can be tricky and cunning about how you do it, but TNA creative are to an entertaining wrestling show writers as Kip James is to relevant at all.
Terrie Neilson of Las Vegas, Nev. (7.0): Best; Jarrett-Angle promo; Sting promo Worst: Joe vs. Bashir What a night of spectacular filler! It wasn't bad, but the overriding storyline of respect is taking away from the other build for the PPV. Or, let's say that one version of respect is taking away from the rest of the definitions - and other lack thereof. I worry big time for Roxxi. Her feud with Awesome Kong took a nice new turn, with Roxxi subduing Saeed first (though how was never logically explained) then going after Kong. However, she shouldn't become the female Mick Foley just for the sake becoming "Hardcore" and having a separate identity. She had one before this, and none of the other Knockouts save Kong and ODB (and Gail Kim when she was there) really even venture in the tough match direction. Maybe Gail Kim would come back to TNA is TNA would free up some funds to have her back. First cost-cutter: Karen Angle. Her first Karen's Angle was the only decent one. Since then she's gone from interviewer to Dr. Phil, and I can't stand Dr. Phil's abrasive tactics. The fact that Hector Guerrero is gone doesn't faze me much, but it does free up LAX to do more, though hopefully not to be broken up yet. Something in the Beer Money promo caught my attention: Roode showing something vulnerable about Jacqueline. Could I be sensing some sort of odd romance between the two? Again, just so long as it doesn't split up Beer Money, this could be kinda fun to watch. So Morgan was able to get Abyss's psychiatrist to violate doctor-patient confidentiality rules so he can give him a pep talk. Wonderful. Morgan looked at a replay to reset him about Abyss, but I don't think A.J. will do likewise with Christian. Sting continues to tow a thinning line, a line that looks to be drawn separating the WWE recruits (with Sting) from TNA. This storyline wouldn't exist if TNA didn't do what it did in the name of getting star power when it had its own unique identity. Not sure if I want to see this one through.
