In Brief: Fleer’s last WWF-branded product includes some unique memorabilia cards and rare autographs.

There are some wrestling trading card sets that stand out above all others, such as 1982 Wrestling All-Stars and 1998 and 1999 Topps WCW. The 2002 WWF All Access product from Fleer isn’t as widely collected as those two landmark sets, but is very significant historically for several reasons.

The now-defunct Fleer produced WWF/WWE trading cards from 2001 to 2004. Fleer expanded on what Comic Images and Topps had done in the late-1990s with certified autograph trading cards. However, Fleer was the first trading card company to bring memorabilia cards to wrestling fans, cutting up swatches of t-shirts, mats, and other worn or used memorabilia and inserting them into cards. In many ways, these are the first modern-era wrestling trading cards.

Fleer produced two or three WWF/WWE products per year during this stretch, many of which are indistinguishable from one another in many ways. However, 2002 Fleer WWF All Access is noteworthy for the inclusion of some extremely rare autographs and unique memorabilia cards. Released in April 2002, this was the last WWF-branded trading card product, as the WWF would become WWE less than a month later.

The base set is made up of 100 cards and includes most of the big names from the Attitude Era and Invasion storyline, including Steve Austin, The Rock, Vince McMahon, Triple H, and Rob Van Dam. It also includes Ric Flair’s first WWF trading card. One insert set, Famous Rides, is made up of 12 cards of vehicles that are (mostly) well known to wrestling fans, such as Diamond Dallas Page’s pink Cadillac, Austin’s truck, and Vince’s jet. Pay-Per-View Posters is a 10-card set illustrating 10 of the top PPVs of 2001, including WrestleMania X-7 and InVasion.

Off the Mat Graphs include a wrestler’s certified autograph and a jumbo-sized swatch of mat from a WWF ring. There are eight cards in this set, many of which were available through a redemption program: Jim Ross, Lita, Rob Van Dam, Stacy Keibler, The Hurricane, Torrie Wilson, Triple H, and Trish Stratus. A Maven redemption was issued by never signed; according to WrestlingTradingCards.com, Fleer replaced the Maven redemption with another autograph from the Off the Matt Graphs set.

The Triple H Off the Mat Graphs card is one of the most valuable wrestling cards of the last 15 years. It is the only Triple H certified autograph trading card ever made and is extremely difficult to find. There is currently one listed for sale on eBay for $499.99 or best offer, with no completed listings in the last 90 days. Over the last few years, most sales of this card have been in the $250-400 range. The Trish Stratus autograph usually sells for around $100; sales of autographs of Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson are extremely rare and prices are so volatile that it is difficult to accurately assign a value to either card.

Match Makers Memorabilia includes two swatches of wrestler-worn or wrestler-used relics from tag team partners or opponents. Some of these cards, such as The Rock & Mick Foley, Rock & Austin, and Austin & Undertaker include the usual swatches from wrestler-worn t-shirts. However, this is one of the more intriguing wrestling memorabilia insert sets ever made due to the unique materials used in the cards. A card of the Dudley Boyz includes two pieces of match-used table. The Edge & Christian card in this set contains two pieces of steel chairs, while the Kane and Undertaker card features a piece of a metal trash can (Kane) and black t-shirt (Undertaker). Each of these cards usually sells in the $25-40 range.

The most unique (and scarcest) card in the Match Makers Memorabilia set is a dual relic card of Kurt Angle and the Rock, featuring a piece of one of Angle’s milk cartons and a swatch of Rock’s shirt. This card is very tough to find and rarely sells on eBay. There is one currently listed for $74.99 or best offer, with no completed sales.

The All Access Memorabilia set includes a swatch of material worn or used by a wrestling during a WWF match, such as Jeff Hardy, Austin, Tazz, Undertaker, and Funaki. Most of these are single-color shirt relics.

It has been nearly 13 years since this product was released, and the Match Makers Memorabilia and Off the Mat Graphs are especially tough to find. Because the vast majority of wrestling memorabilia cards are t-shirt cards, cards that feature unique material from things like tables and milk cartons are always more popular with collectors. With supply drying up, it is possible that demand for these cards could surge at any time.
