In Brief: For their newest action figures, Hart tangles with Homer and Batista goes green.

To call Dave Batista’s return to WWE a flop would be an understatement. Given all the money and resources put into “Guardians of the Galaxy,” maybe Drax the Destroyer will receive a warmer reception.

Batista’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” will hit theaters on April 1, after most of the summer’s top blockbusters have come and gone. Just like with any Marvel superhero film, there will be plenty of merchandise to go along with it.

MarvelToyNews.com just unveiled images of the first figure of Batista as Drax, which has received positive reviews from Marvel collectors so far.

Batista’s Drax figure is included in the six-inch Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy line of figures set to hit stores this summer. The figure is incredibly detailed, with pale green skin and red tattoos that cover a significant part of his head and torso. The head sculpt is also very Dave Batista, no doubt about it.

The Marvel Legends line debuted in the early-2000s and was one of the first premium toy lines aimed at adult collectors. The figures have always been rich in detail and amazingly articulated. These types of figures paved the way for Jakks Pacific’s Classic WWE Superstars and Mattel’s WWE Elite line that collectors love today.

Each Marvel Legends figure typically retails for a whopping $19.99 at stores like Walmart and Target, and even higher at other big box stores. There’s no doubt that these figures are aimed at adult collectors. It’s hard to picture parents spending 20 bucks on one action figure for their young kids.

- Many celebrities have joked that they knew they made it big when they guest starred on the Simpsons. Bret Hart did just that in 1997 – and now he’s joining an even more exclusive club.

Bret will be included in the third series of The Simpsons 25th Anniversary Greatest Guest Stars figures alongside Penn & Teller, Stephen King, Leonard Nimoy, and REM.

NECA Collectibles is producing figures of the 25 greatest guest stars in the show’s 25-year history. The 25 figures are being spread out over five series. Series 1 included Hugh Hefner, James Brown, Yao Ming, Tom Hanks, and Kid Rock. Series 2 was made up of The Who, Britney Spears, Mark Hamill, Lucy Lawless, and Tony Hawk.

The Simpsons figures aren’t usually sold at stores like Kmart, Walmart, or Target, but can often be found at places like Toys R Us and Hastings. The figures can also be ordered online from a variety of sites. Individual figures usually retail for about $12-15.

Pictures of Bret’s Simpsons figure are available HERE.
